Hmm, we seem to be interpreting the choice of night actions differently.
Could we get a clarification from the mods whether the vigs and BPs are permanently gained abilities or are only good for the night? I was assuming the former, i.e., I could say to the mods, "I'm going out for the night," then in the morning I get a vig to use later in the game on whatever night I want. You're saying I would have to say, "I'm going out for the night and am going to kill XXX," and the vig would occur immediately.
I guess that makes more sense in the context of the scene (people who go out just lay waste to each other and those who stay indoors can't be killed), but, why the hell would anyone go outside then? The DG has a BP and the killers are immune for the night, as well, so the only people you're going to be able to successfully kill are innocents, or, if you are really lucky, a symp who was stupid enough to go out.
Am I missing something?

It is Night 3. 16 hours and 23 minutes remaining
Players still alive: Ampelas, Barghast, Eloth, Emurlahn, Galain, Galayn Lord, Gamelon, Hood's Path, Kaschan, Korlat, Liosan, Meanas, Silanah, Thyrllan
(Clarification for those of you participating in the festival: The actions you choose last for the night only. If you choose to vig, you need to send a target along with that choice. If you choose to hide, the BP fades come morning.)

Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

Well, Jesus Christ, unless I'm missing something, everyone should just stay indoors unless you're reasonably sure no one is gunning for you AND you have a very important night action. The only people you're going to kill with a vig are innocents.

That does seem most intelligent. But then again, I know some of the people playing are very skilled both at alt-guessing and analyzing certain people's play styles(I'm not one of these skilled few, btw) so it may be that they've already pegged some scums and this is their opportunity to take them out.

The killers automatically get a BP for the night, thus you have zero chance of killing them.

Unless I'm mistaken and these BPs protect against one kill, as opposed to the usual one night of kills. Another clarification perhaps?
The post says "1 hit" in reference to the town's BPs, but that could just be rhetoric, as BPs usually protect a full night. And when it talks about the killers' BP, it makes no distinction at all.

No, read it closely. 1 BP between them. So, if two are targeted, one dead scum. Also, we can hit the DG.
lol, cross. I read it as though it protects against one attack, otherwise, what would the point be of specifying one for all?

I dunno, again, it could just be rhetoric which doesn't have much meaning in the context of a one-night temporary BP.

The infected will take the vig to try kill Duncan and people who think they've spotted a killer or the DG will take it because with only the innos getting BPs it's a reasonably safe vig. In theory if only one inno goes out then the only people the can kill are scum. Or at least chip away at the DG's BP. And they would get a non-killer find if their action fails. It could even work with no innos dying if two or three innos went out, but at some point too many people go out and innos drop like flies. So it's not completely stupid to go out, but it would be better for team inno if everyone stays inside.

Eloth, you seem to have missed the part where the killers also get a BP.

Further clarification: As far as I know one BP only ever protects against one shot. I would assume the same here. -Malaese.

I was just thinking of that time in TPB game where you were mistakenly killed when the mods agreed later the BP between Buttercup and Wesley should have protected you from both kills.
But if I am mistaken, that does add some extra incentive for going out, I guess.

Aah, right. I somehow managed to read "the Killers, ignorant of our customs remain unchanged" the first time and had that idea stuck in my head there after, even when I read through it again. Sigh, I shouldnt play late at night. Never mind then, with two hits needed to get a killers (so it would seem from the clarification) it doesnt seem worthwhile.

This festival is wild. One thing that could make this messy is people who may not even sign on before it's over. It's the weekend now, and Gam can't be the only one who won't make it online. Does that mean they are randomly wandering the streets since they didn't put in an night action, or does that automatically mean they've barricaded themselves in?
I'm horribly busy and didn't think I'd have to the time to sign in. Well, I found the time (and this will be my only post since I can't stick around), but what will happen to those who dont?
I'm out for now, and I probably won't be back to see what happened until Sunday.

Hmmm, good point. We could be in or some serious arnage. Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything we can do about it. Except hope that some of the scum/DG/infs are among the away group. Well, I'm off to bed. See slow thread tomorrow.
