Has anyone got Information as to the who, What, when, or where's of The Toblakai trilogy ?.

My hopes.
Book one: Covering the history of the TTT to the point of their sequestering on the plateu.

Book two: Karsa's return to the Teblor, post The tyrants return to Darughistan but containing some of the aftermath of said convergence.

Book three: The Unleashing of Karsas united people on the world of Wu. Woe be it to the pencil pushers, buerecrats and bean counters of the world.

Anyhow no-one else seemed to want to start a thread here :p

the tyrants return is probably gonna be dealt with in ICE darujhistan novel so i dont think that's gonna be in this trilogy my guess is that it starts after that book when he returns to the teblor

I'm thinking it'll be:

Book 1 - Karsa's return to the Teblor, whipping them up into a frenzy and getting them all lined up to fight. Probably killing off that slaver village by the lake where he was caught

Book 2 - the actualy Toblakai campaign begins

Book 3 - the endgame of the campaign, Karsa squares off against Calm (was that her name?) the Forkrul Assail he liberated. Delum Thord and Bairoth whatsisface desert Karsa and his sword breaks. Not sure if he survives beyond that...

could be a mix of things.
Toblakai need not refer just to the Teblor.
If Karsa does decide to go all Genocidal on civilization, I predict he'll get to take Northern Genabackis, before the Malazans send a punitive army against him.

Frankly, I hope SE doesn't just write about Karsa in this.

It could also be a bit about the actual Toblakai civilization that was ruined. Although I don't think this is very likely since Erikson hasn't done those kind of things so far.

Also, what about all the fugitive toblakai-blooded refugees outside Lethraas?

Maybe a bit about why Icarium split the Teblor into seven tribes, and why the civilization failed.

If Karsa takes his time, he might be leading the army against an adult Grub (or with him against something worse).

I bet he'll stick to format. It will be set in present time, but have lots of flashbacks, just like the MBotF.

I am really looking forward to this trilogy. I want pov's through Karsa and i want lots of them. But i really don't want him just to conquer Genabackis, because Grub has to have an empire to be first sword over. Somehow i want to see Grub and Karsa united. Maybe Karsa can become emperor of the Malazan empire... you never know :). Also their is that witch being favored of Burn, you know that will become something huge. Anyway you look at it in truth, i just don't see the Toblakai "Kingdom" under Karsa surviving, but hey maybe Erikson will surprise me with something totally different then what i am expecting.

It'll be sort of hard for him to square off against Calm..........

I don't think Karsa wants a Kingdom per se. He wants to eliminate slavery. Karsa will obviously go on some variety of rampage but against whom? Maybe when he finally gets back to the Teblor of his home village there is a new enemy? Karsa will only fight fights that need to be fought (these days) he will go out of his way to help the little guy, hence hating slavery. So I don't think he will just slaughter all cities, he hates the idea of money and slavery and people being used, not people living in cities. He is far more complex than people give him credit for in my opinion. I think that he and Ublala will end up meeting up for sure, who knows how that involves Icarium or even Draconus. Next is all the Thel descendants all over the world as previously mentioned. Maybe the toblakai of Wu are needed to fight something that only they can fight, or something locally threatening to them that didn't appear until Karsa's newfound (ascendency or bloody close) caused his power to become recognised causing some variety of convergence. Considering that there is a HUGE T'lan Imass graveyard near the Teblor and there was a Frokrul Assail nearby a metric ton of crap could be waiting that has nothing to do with anything else at all. It amazes me how much is going on in this world that can be completely separate (ish) from the rest of the story or world. I think this universe to complex (the Malazan one) to second guess what may come. I am just looking forward to more Karsa. I do hope that more Toblakai and Thel descendants all meet up to form a free city of HUGE MAN BEAR PIGS! along with the Barghast maybe? The flesh and bone Imass? what about the undead Jaghut? They may appear in the books too lol. GOD SO MUCH STUFFS, BRAIN HURTS, MUST READ STONEWEILDER!

Toblakai out.....

Not in any permanent way we're aware of, but he did fill that role in a couple of books, notably RG and TCG.

i may be the only malazan fan here who doesn't have karsa as a favorite character. hes probably not even in my top ten. don't know how I feel about a trilogy centering around him, but I know literally everyone else loves him so im sure it will be enjoyed

I could be wrong, but I think the Toblakai trilogy will be about Karsa as much as the Kharkanas trilogy is about, say, Arathan or Draconus. He'll definitely be a big part, but there's going to be a lot of other stuff going on. Could be wrong, and maybe Erikson will narrow things down to limited PoV similar to the start of House of Chains, but I doubt it. The Toblakai trilogy will probably end up only being about Karsa as much as the Kharkanas trilogy is only about the Tiste. At first it might seem that way, but as things proceed it'll become abundantly clear that there's more at stake (just look at Fall of Light, which is supposed to center a Jaghut-heavy plotline).

All speculation, of course.
uhm, that should be 'stuff.' My stiff is never nihilistic.

It almost has to be that way, since we know who Ublala Pung is hanging out with post-TCG.
