:) But, but...that's worse! Anyway, it CAN'T be true, because I love SE...QED. :p
'Tell me, Tool, what dominates your thoughts?'
The Imass shrugged before replying. 'I think of Mafia, Adjunct.'
'Do all Imass think about Mafia?'
'No. Few think at all.'
'Why is that?'
The Imass leaned his head to one side and regarded her. 'Because, Adjunct, they are sheeple.'

Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that frisbee getting bigger?" ... and then it hits me.

English genius, w00t :) 100, 93, 93, 80. Match that with my HIGH BROW fantasy author score and you know you're onto a winner!

By the way, am I the only one who wanted to insert swear words into the blanks?

Mary Gentle (High-Brow, very violent, experimental and cynical)
(Jen'isand Rul, the Wanderer within the Sword)
'I am the Shield Anvil.' I am Fener's grief. I am the world's grief. And I will hold. I will hold it all, for we are not yet done. <Itkovian>
'We are not born innocent, simply unmeasured.' <Hull Beddict>
'Because a god visits her, Fist. He comes to break her heart. Again and again.'<Nether>
'Fucking dragon.' <Fiddler>
Take my breath. But not this one, not this one. <Apsalar>
'Aye.' It's a good word. I think. More a whole attitude than a word, really. With lots of meaning in it, too. A bit of 'yes' and a bit of 'well fuck' and maybe some 'we're all in this together.' So a word to some up the Malazans. <Sunrise>

Lian Hearn, whoever that is. -5 High-Brow, 33 Violent, 9 Experimental and 13 Cynical. Silly quizzes. Although having a higher violence score than 99% of 'my peers' was funny.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I'm apparently an English genius. Hooray for my grasp of grade school English. 100, 100, 100, 86. I wish I knew what I got wrong...

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored better than half in Nerd and Geek, earning you the title of: Modern, Cool Nerd.

Mary Gentle (b. 1956)
7 High-Brow, 21 Violent, 3 Experimental and 1 Cynical!

oh yeah!

Maybe I should read something of Mary's now?

You are also a lot like Gene Wolfe.

If you want something more gentle (no pun intended), try Philip Pullman.

If you'd like a challenge, try your exact opposite, J K Rowling.

Lian Hearn is a great read, I'd recommend checking her out. She also has some of the best titles in the business. Her Tales of the Otori series starts with _Across The Nightingale Floor_, and continues with _Grass For His Pilllow_ and _Brilliance Of The Moon_. There are a couple of books after that initial trilogy.
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

I do like Lian Heard as well. The first two Tales of the Otori are brilliant. The third is alright. I haven't gotten to the sequel or prequel yet.

I came out: 3 High-Brow, 3 Violent, -5 Experimental and 11 Cynical- Michael Moorcock.

Who I actually like, except he got too interested in being "prolific" and his craft slipped. I like world building more than him too, though. Oh well. Coming in like China Mieville is cool too. My opposite being Katherine Kerr makes sense; I've never enjoyed her.

Moorcock apparently

highbrow, violent, traditional and cynical
Question:

Does being the only sane person in the world make you insane?

Hmm...I came out thusly:

Philip Pullman
9 High-Brow, -3 Violent, 15 Experimental and 21 Cynical!

My exact opposite is Tolkien. The ironic thing is that I've never read any Pullman and I adore Tolkien. Go figure. Still, this was a pretty fun quiz! :(

I did a similar test awhile back and got Gene Wolfe. Went to try out some of his books as they sounded interested (Claw of the Conciliator series) and really just did not enjoy him at all...didn't like the writing style, plot or characters. Only thing I enjoyed was the setting!
