I must now apologize to Sixty. I was looking at the clock behind you.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

60, I was still looking at my watch.

I think we decided to do a draft in a thread on here Volkh. So we get to draft, but we dont have to be here at the same time.

Don't think we are having a live draft, guys. Too hard to schedule with two of us being in the UK. I think we could do it, with people who don't want to bother getting their team automatically selected by the computer, but it's TT's say and it looks like he doesn't want to do it. So that's that.

I did want to do a live draft originally, we just ran into problems because we have west-coast people and one from Denmark, so immediately we have like an 8 hour time difference. Then we have work complicating things, someone, cant remember who but its mentioned earlier in the thread, works nights so that puts them out, and we werent all around at any one weekend within the next few weeks (Malaz BBQ, weekend work, other halfs and the like), so when the option of a forum draft was raised it seemed like a good solution.

It's still a live draft really, just a very very slow motion one.:) :p

When shall we start? Would anyone have any objections to starting soon-ish?

TT keep editing first post with the decisions you make so when we are ready to start the draft, all needed info about both players and point scoring are in 1 place.

I hope it isnt to much work for you, but since this is my first time playing fantasy ball , i want to make sure i have all the needed information before start.

Question: I thought it was point scoring that counted, but is this match play? meening that it doesnt matter how much i score, just that i beat my weekly opponent?

Yeah, but ties in record are settled by total points.

If we're both 5-3, whoever has the most total points is in the higher spot.

First post updated to include scoring and teams.

As the weeks go past, I'll post results and that too there.

Thank you both for quick answering :)

Another question: 2nd string RB often have special team duties as KR/PR. Does it count also when they are doing that or only when running the ball normally?

Edit never mind that question, saw the scoring rules in post 1.

My team is named Bacon Boys btw.

My internet access for the next 2.5 weeks or so will be intermittent, so I'd prefer to wait.

edit: oh, and my team is The Awesomes.

Ok, we'll wait a couple weeks at least before the draft, but I figure we may as well sort out draft order now.

I've assigned each player a random letter (using the trusty name on a bit of paper drawn out of a hat method :X), A - N.

Does anyone fancy doing a similar draw, one with numbers, to correspond to each letter? That way it eliminates any potential for cheating or whatever (not that I would, but for the sake of transparency ). If anyone wants to volunteer, let me know, and then I'll PM the list of players' letters to a random 2 or 3 other players before you do your draw, so they can confirm I havent fiddled things about to get 1st pick or whatever.

Just do it however you want is my opinion.

With the way you do fantasy drafts (1-14,14-1) makes it pretty even for everyone anyway.

I utterly disagree. But, that's okay.

The 1-14-14-1 evening out the draws. I've played as #1 pick, had the last pick, and had mid-round. Mid round is where it's at.
