And across the world, the fans of Spider-man drew a collected sigh of relief... good riddance.

Yeah, I think that it was time for Raimi & co. to move along, and if I had to watch Tobey Maguire strut down the street dressed in emo clothes again I would have torn down the movie screen.
That said, rebooting it so soon seems like a mistake....but it could also be cool (ala The Incredible Hulk with Edward Norton)....though they had better not make us sit through an hour of the origin story again....I swear to god!

The only bonus is that maybe they can tie it in with the Avengers movies. Oh, and maybe they'll get the right Peter Parker this time (i.e. Joseph Gordon-Levitt).
I agree, this is a good idea, and I think he'd nail the role.

Pretty good source says it looks like Raimi is going to take on WARCRAFT...

Wont be another 4 years at least till we see another spidey movie... a whole new team/script takes long time to get it all together before you can even think about shooting whereas Raimi would have had allot of stuff in place already.

It's an old story, but I would love to see a two part movie series based on the Kraven Saga.
First part being the one where Spidey is hunting the rat guy and is ambushed and shot by Kraven, he is burried for 2 weeks. Kraven assumes Spidermans identity and kills a bunch of criminals. Eventually Spiderman, after having some fucked up spider eating dreams, wakes and he comes back to confront Kraven. The whole thing ends with Kraven, having finally beaten Spiderman, blows his head off (this remains the best Spider-man story ever).
Followed up with the McFarlane story where Kravens wife/girlfriend summons Spiderman and the Lizard for a fight, Spiderman has all kinds of hallucinations of an undead Kraven with a giant hole in his head and Spiderman gets all messed up. The final part where Spider-man came crawling home, burned and bloodied into the arms of MJ was one of the only parts of the series where I appreciated their marriage.

The Macfarlane story with the Hobgoblin around the same time was one of my all time faves. Macfarlane could draw Spidey like no other, and once the colour technology caught up with his artwork... damn. Beautiful.
Don't fuck with the Culture.

I'm not exactly jumping up and down at news of another Spidey flick after the previous lame efforts.

Gee you didn't enjoy a creepy emo spiderman?
"Ignoring him, she stepped back out of the ellipse and began singing in the Woman's Language, which was, of course, unintelligible to Iskaral's ears. Just as the Man's Language-which Mongora called gibberish-was beyond her ability to understand. The reason for that, Iskaral Pust knew, was that the Man's Language was gibberish, designed specifically to confound women."
