He always seemed a bit puny for Hercules. They should have got the reigning Mr Universe at the time, bulked him up even more on steroids, and sent him on set.

I though Brian Thompson was rather awesome as Hercules in that Argonaughts TV-film. He kicked some serious ass in that film.

Well, Mezla, we both know Hollywood cannot top the Adventures of Hercules TV movies with Kevin Sorbo:

Precisely. If the new movie is a box office hit, they might try to make a Xena movie! That is a danger the world cannot afford to joke about.

Michael Madsen, one of the most popular danish actors.

Um... You surely meant Mads Mikkelsen...?

And regarding the movie, I'm with Mezla on this. They'll make a perfectly watchable movie that will however not come even near the awesomeness of the original, but since the Young Generation probably won't even know there's ever been an original they'll be perfectly happy about it, will spend loads of money on it, make it into the box office hit, and then may god have mercy on us when we enter the era of systematic mutilation of Greek mythology at the hands of second-class Hollywood directors specialized on re-makes of things that should never have been re-made (or even made in first place)... *sigh*

The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.

I never got the giant scorpians... freaky horned dude stabs medusas head and next thing you know wtf?!? But the original story itself was a fairly silly mashup of various greek hero myths so they can really do whatever they want with this.

Anyrate, if they play this semi-serious al la 300 and kick it for the effects it could be quite good. Greek mythology isn't really getting much attention since Herc and Zena went off the air and TROY was only so-so.

And Harry Hamlin has to make an appearance, somehow.

- Abyss, is assuming Harryseus is still alive...

Set phasers to SALIVATE.

I can't believe how pathetically pants-creaming the prospect of this film is making me. TRAILERS PLS

The Stygian witches look very Del Toro-esque, incidentally - a good thing. Although I will forever think of them as they are in that kids Hercules cartoon/film.

2010 is going to be a GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD year for films.

THIS is how I want to be cheered up after a 15hour day. Bravo sir, bravo.

Now, if someone will fetch me some tissue, I have some very wet, sticky boxers to clean.

This does look awesome. Other than the constant over-use of the "300 leap-fly-stab" move (patent pending). Curse hollywood!
