So I've caught up. HP's pressuring seems somewhat pliable, but I can't blame him--if he doesn't think Silanah's on his team, why should he have any qualms about voting? A little defensive to be true, but hardly lynch-worthy IMO.

The silanah case is reasonable. He also seems convinced the cult must be the king of hell, despite suggestions of other possibilities. That, IMO, is just as condemning as his insistence of the whole "let's take out the king of hell" stuff.

Vote Silanah

This is exactly why I thought we should hold our votes a little while. Sil is now at L-2 and I'm not even sure if everyone has checked in yet. With such an obvious lynch choice, the chances of any more information coming to light are pretty slim. That said, it's a pretty good case for day one of a merc game where noone has any idea what's going on.

This is essentially the scum mentality in a town game. If it isn't another scum (read: another person on their team) getting lynched, what do they have to lose?

There is that. On the flip-side, though, I'm anxious to find out what info we get from the "reduced CF". I know it says we get alt name and alt in the opener, but I'm optimistic we might get a tad more then that, like char name. Depending on what we end up getting could make a big difference to mine 9and everyone else's) strategy for the entire game.

I totally agree we should now let silanah come back first....lets see what he says and more importantly what others say before lynching.

Not saying we shouldn't lynch him, just that we shouldnt be in such a rush. We're gonna find out what's in the CF anyway, why are you in such a rush to see it? I would rather get info from players than PS. With things the way they are now, the next ten hours are pretty much gonna be filled with people saying "I will put the hammer when the other two players have shown up", since there isnt really any other course of action.

I agree, I was just stating that I'm anxious! So, any idea who hasn't checked in yet?

Player list is: D'riss, Emurlahn, Fener, Gamelon, Hood's Path, Kessobahn, Korlat, Korvalain, Liosan, Meanas, Rashan, Ruse, Silanah, Telas, Tellan, Tennes

Don't think we've heard from Kesso yet. I think I've seen Liosan. 1 or 2 of the T's have shown, just can't remember which one(s)...

Hood's Path 26
Korlat 25
Emurlahn 23
Path-Shaper 21
Korvalain 17
Fener 16
Silanah 14
Rashan 13
Gamelon 12
Liosan 12
D'riss 12
Meanas 9
Ruse 3
Tellan 3
Telas 2
Tennes 2
Kessobahn 1

Hmm, it seems everyone has checked in - I could have sworn 18 people were playing, not 16.

So, is there any point to drawing out the day at this point or should I just put down my vote?

Up to you, if you think you can get some reaction-worthy discussion going on, go for it. Might be worth waiting to see what Sil will say/do when his lynch is imminent, too. I gotta go offline for a bit, so I will see you all later.

I have to go now too. Gonna leave my vote off for now, to give a little more time for discussion should it occur.

The fourth vote of doom thing will probably hold true during a merc game, unless Sil is actually the leader some gigantic faction. I just think we should wait a little before dooming the man - there's still 12+ hours to go and speedlynches dont give us any information.

he did try to explain himself, though his defence was pretty weak. I agree though it would be good not to lynch the guy. Better we wait and see what happens. After all, lynching him now gives us very little additional information for day 2.

catching up but ohnoes i see ppl tryin to lynch me

i dunno why u are trying to look up old games either, as if that somehow indicates how we work. it would be monumentally terribad for me to go "o hi i'm cult btw i think the cult's over here" the scene looked pretty clear to me, korlat was nice enough to elaborate on the actual story since i dunno it and it caught me eye

i see lots of incentive to find the guy-or whoever the cult is-and it just comes out in my text

still catching up....

Then perhaps someone else could be suggested as an alternative? He is the best option atm, Fener.

@Korv, it is and it isn't the same as a scum game. One could actually look at a merc game as several teams of scum, but with less interaction and knowledge of each other than in a traditional scum game. At the beginning, it's fairly easy to get the same effect of lynch trains, as you have to remember that around three quarters of the players are against each person, and even more don't know who is who. So you can still get the train dynamic, as you only need a majority to lynch. Of course, you also have the fear of accidentally lynching your own team members...but that doesn't count for a lot - because if you hold back, you can get linked to people, and these things often turn into a one-team hunt for a few days.

this post reminds me a lot of a phantom vote... you basically say, 'well we dont want to speedlynch but oh wait, theres nobody else to vote for'

still catching up

I'm here. I have read up and I gotta say, I have no idea whats going on. Granted I suck at Merc games, but still. Having said that I want to call BS on the whole forth vote thing. In the last game, Bent was second on three trains, and an inno was the fourth to vote. However, I won't be the forth vote as I think it more likely Hood's Path is the better candidate for cult leader. Typically that person wants to be seen as a sheep, at least until they increase their numbers. I'll get a couple of posts together to show what I mean. And this is in no way supposed to be symping Sil, if I need to change, I certainly will. I just think HP fits the profile slightly better.

One point of note on Sil before I go dig up quotes: It was a really weak response about why Sil was mentioning Cult (leader of hell) so much that gave me pause, but the sheer sheepness (see what I did there) of HP is just incredibly obvious. I think, anyway.

Vote Hood's Path

dunno what's 'dumb' about bringing it up and making sure ppl know about the cult, whoever it is... notice i didn't try to draw some giant day 1 case? truth is, i smell blood in the water for that faction and want to ferret it out

still catchin gup

I am back, dead thread is dead, but I see Sil is back. So things may pick up. I hate starting on a weekend break. Granted, I would rather not have waited until Monday, but the weekends make for a long wait to get replies.
