I'm back. It seems I have sparked some controversy. To be fair, Emur did comment way back when. Although I think PS missed it - isn't Emur still voting me?
As for Sil, when I first made the observation I was mainly being flippant, but if we are to believe past history, maybe I have in fact happened onto something.
Vote Silanah

Oh, I'm still voting you, Korvalain? lol. What was I even voting you for?
Remove Vote
Going to be soon, willprobably almost definitely vote for Silanah before I'm off, though won't that make me the dreaded fourth vote of DOOM?

Hrm, has anyone ever tested the DREAD FOURTH VOTE OF DOOM in a merc game? I wonder...

The fourth vote of doom thing will probably hold true during a merc game, unless Sil is actually the leader some gigantic faction. I just think we should wait a little before dooming the man - there's still 12+ hours to go and speedlynches dont give us any information.

Can you explain? You may be right since I haven't really thought about it, but since in this game we dont know who anyone is, much less how big groups are, it isn't the same as a scum with all the information jumping on an inno lynch train, right? Or wrong?

he did try to explain himself, though his defence was pretty weak. I agree though it would be good not to lynch the guy. Better we wait and see what happens. After all, lynching him now gives us very little additional information for day 2.

well, in a merc game there's no such thing as an innocent. I think the easiest way to consider it is to imagine a game with several teams of killers and no innocent faction

I suppose talking means it's less likely to happen, but meh. If person x is a leader, then his followers are more likely to give themselves away trying to defend him/derail his train when he has two or three votes. By the time someone is on l-2, l-3 it's clear which way the wind is blowing and the followers will just vote their leader or lurk. The biggest part of faction games is trying to figure out who is in which faction and the main way you tell is when votes are placed on leaders, since that's pretty much all the info anyone has.

Then perhaps someone else could be suggested as an alternative? He is the best option atm, Fener.
@Korv, it is and it isn't the same as a scum game. One could actually look at a merc game as several teams of scum, but with less interaction and knowledge of each other than in a traditional scum game. At the beginning, it's fairly easy to get the same effect of lynch trains, as you have to remember that around three quarters of the players are against each person, and even more don't know who is who. So you can still get the train dynamic, as you only need a majority to lynch. Of course, you also have the fear of accidentally lynching your own team members...but that doesn't count for a lot - because if you hold back, you can get linked to people, and these things often turn into a one-team hunt for a few days.

@HP - I'm just frustrated with idiots who can't seem to read the thread.
Considering I said at least one post before that one that I had commented, your further post was just annoying.

I'm here. I have read up and I gotta say, I have no idea whats going on. Granted I suck at Merc games, but still. Having said that I want to call BS on the whole forth vote thing. In the last game, Bent was second on three trains, and an inno was the fourth to vote. However, I won't be the forth vote as I think it more likely Hood's Path is the better candidate for cult leader. Typically that person wants to be seen as a sheep, at least until they increase their numbers. I'll get a couple of posts together to show what I mean. And this is in no way supposed to be symping Sil, if I need to change, I certainly will. I just think HP fits the profile slightly better.
One point of note on Sil before I go dig up quotes: It was a really weak response about why Sil was mentioning Cult (leader of hell) so much that gave me pause, but the sheer sheepness (see what I did there) of HP is just incredibly obvious. I think, anyway.
Vote Hood's Path
