Just the wikipedia page, but its not very helpful. Gives you a couple characters, at least, but not a lot of them and not much plot.

I read Scar Night way back in the depths of time, so my memories of it are somewhat fuzzy. Something about a city built over an abyss...but that's about it. I always thought the city planners must have been rather insane...

It's a religious thing. Their city is suspended entirely by chains and its a form of worship to the God of Chains at the bottom of the gorge/abyss/volcano

I think it still does. If they die and get dropped into the middle of the gorge properly and all, they become a minion of Ulcis (the God of Chains), but if they don't worship him properly then they go to hell and serve Menoa in any of a certain number of ways. They might be incorporated into his army, but I do believe not all the dead people he collects in hell were made part of the army and so you could still end up in the Maze of Horrors or getting eaten alive or one of the other punishments.
