Defiance Last

Has this place been mentioned before this book? We know that everything's building up to this final battle royale, and when Faint and Sweetest Sufferance are talking about her grandfather, she mentions this place. "The Merchants of Blood, the army that will fight on the hidden plain called Defiance Last." "That's what the Dawn of Flies is about. A final battle, the dead gathered, on a hidden plain."
Is this where Fiddler and crew are going? Where the Hood's army is marching? Same destination you think?
Oh and that Revenants crew that Sweet Suffer'n mentions sounds like good reading.

I believe Defiance Last was Dragnipur, the battle against Chaos, although I couldn't be sure; could also be referring to the place called Battlefield of the Gods, or something similar, by Fener.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Lish has got it. Dragnipur is definitely hidden, it was a last defiance against Chaos claiming the gate to KG, the dead were gathered, and what are soldiers if not "Merchants of Blood"?

Logically it makes sense to be a ref to Dragnipur, tho i can't help but wonder if there's another goal for perhaps the Bridgeburners at least, if not the whole Army o' death.

I agree on both parts. The reference seems to be another way of referring to the battle in Dragnipur. And I don't think the Bridgeburners are done just yet.

I am agreed on the whole Dragnipur bit, and the "dawn of flies" could be attributed to the Death of Hood.
Also, does anyone remember when Sweetest Sufferance and Faint were talking about the Revenents, there was some mention of them being commanded by a renegde Seguleh who was sworn to Hood. Sorry, I dont have the Book with me.
Anyway, Sounds like the Second to me!

You are correct, but I don't think it was the second... I vaguely remember it may have been the leader of the outcast Segulah Torvald Nom teams up with...

Yeah, Lish is right, it's not the Second. It's that custodian I'm fairly sure - Studious Lock I think his name is.

I do not think that the Revenant commander could have been Studious Lock, because he is still in the so-called "Mortal Plain".
Sweetest did mention that this was from her time growing up in One Eye Cat, which was where Studious settled, but I think that is just a coincidence.
In that conversation, Faint mentions that the Revenants were "Taken by Hood himself, to serve him in the realm of the dead"
This has to be the Second, as the only other Seguleh that we saw in the Dragnipur battle were the ones that fell to Rake. It stands to reason that if there was another Seguleh sworn to Hood, that he would be at that battle as well.
