Mafia 46 - Monastery Murders Game Thread

Been reading Shadow and Amp and until today, I couldn't find much to go on from either of them. One thing I'd like to point out, if Sil or Korv were indeed silencers, why did they both come up inno? And if they came up inno, why do you assume the person who you are accusing of scumminess was ever associated with them? The only time silencers have ever been symps that I've seen is in Benses, and that's kinda special.

Where does it say we're playing a common game where symps can't inherit powers? Or maybe Fener was describing one of his partner's powers? If the power exists and is still out there, then it's still a viable explanation for why there were 2 night kills.
On to the next point: you didn't ask if you could vote? That would be the first thing I would be concerned about and would like to clear up if I were silenced.
And how exactly were you expecting people to react to someone being silenced? How would they even know unless someone came out and said, "Hey, I was silenced yesterday"? That seems like something you could have done to actually get a reaction out of people.
And finally, how does you being silent for an entire day make a killer think you are a symp?
Your whole response reads to me like a scum who saw silence as a possible role and decided not to talk for an entire day to see if it would help him cook up a good PI story later in the game. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but you have already lied to me and you are cooking up bullshit cases, so I'm gonna stick to my suspicions. If you are innocent, you sure aren't acting like it.

1. So you're saying that you think the ability Fener claimed is someone else's and D'riss killed himself by finding that person?
2. I wasn't lying, I really was at a tradeshow for most of the day. By the time I got home, showered, etc and logged on it was L-2 and it didn't seem like there'd be any problems. I sent off a message to PS but it took him a while to get back to me and it didn't matter by that point.
3. The reaction would've been "Oh, there's a silencer. We have no way of figuring out who and since everyone knows and they can presumably silence themselves, we'll never know." And that would have been the end of it and no value would have come from it at all. Anything beyond that like someone not being silenced the next day would've been riddled with WIFOM, but this was much less likely if the scum didn't believe anyone was on to them.
4. If the silencer didn't know all his teammates, he could think I was a symp because I didn't immediately reveal I was silenced (this is basic role-wifom, I'm surprised you don't grasp it).
Frankly I wasn't overtly trying to hide it, I talked about how I had a long absence and yet no one noticed I wasn't modkilled, and then I mentioned a couple time that people hadn't checked in yet. If I was faking it I wouldn't have dared to potentially put the idea in someone's head before I was ready to use it.

You're not even reading the thread anymore Kess. The only mention of Korv I've made in my last several dozen posts has been when talking about how you jumped to hammer Telas when korv was already in place for that. I think you're mistakenly pulling this Korv reference out of your messages with your scum buddy? Or if you don't get off-thread, then you're just pulling it out of your ass.
editaddendum: as for why a role would be a mix of symp and silencer, I don't know, but I'm not ruling the possibility out of hand. Benses has it, and despite the supposed "uniqueness" of Benses, that doesn't disclude other games from having it. Beyond that, this game was supposed to have more players so roles could have been combined for balancing.

Hmm, not sure why I didn't think of the modkill. You do have a 41-hour gap between your posts, so I will believe you for now. If we lose because of it, I'm gonna blame the moderators. That's a pretty dirty way to play if you got a modkill extension for extenuating circumstances and then use it for a PI.
That said, if you are innocent, why do you still have a vote on Kesso for a shit case? For all we know, it could be D-day, and one wrong vote would get us the big L.

If the mods had given me an extension for personal circumstances, I doubt they would let me get away with exploiting their generous natures anyway.
My vote is on Kesso because I'm sure he's scum. I've been suspicious ever since he did that stupid-ass song and fake affrontery bullshit on day 1.

Apparently tis you not reading, HP mentioned Korv in the context I was using. Either way, Silencer is usually a scum role. Also, he's usually a non poster. /joke

Yes, I'd like to see this stuff too. I don't know what you're talking about anymore Shadow. You seem to be pulling ranom bs out your ass for no reason, then claiming I'm doing the same thing I think that is indeed strawmanning.

Oh he was trying to pretend like he was affronted by my blithe mention of self-masturbation, but it was bullcrap and he gave up on it quickly enough (and made no mention of Telas' equivalent either) and then two posts later decided we all needed to read a giant song about how he was lonely.

I'm sure there's plenty of weird day 1 spam from you, as well, that could be presented to cause some amount of suspicion, but I still don't see how it's case-worthy on day 5.
Anyway, I'm dropping it for now. I'm gonna wait for Mockra, Liosan and Tellan to check in before I decide where to put a vote.

Shadow's problem was that there were 2 night kills, causing him to dismiss the entirety of Fener's reveal, but I don't know what that had to do with me. I mentioned that it was a cool role to have for scum, and suddenly I am scum? Like Shadow himself was so fond of pointing out, a grain of lie to distract doesn't make the whole reveal bullshit. There has to be some amount of truth, as much as possible even to make it easy to maintain. But it has no bearing now, because we can't tell what part of the reveal is the truth and which the lie. Ummm...Fucking Regis (Pat Sajack) and Kelly is throwing off my train of thought.

That is so desperate its sad. I'm just having trouble deciding which one of you is more likely the killing killer that kills.
that sounds pretty desperate to me, I was almost going to remove my vote, since all I wanted was a non-joke stance, but now you throw out this shit?

Well, Tellan will definitely be modkilled if he doesn't post before day times out. Unless the nefarious silencer is still on the loose!

Its kinda like this:
To start, Kesso shows belief in Fener's ability claims prior to the end of night, more so than anyone else, really.
If (at that point, remember) Fener was to be believed, someone on day 1 was roled, either a guard or healer and got their ability bounced back at them and they died. D'riss and Gamelon were the finders.
A matter of minutes after Kesso has logged on and posted, night ends, and no one else has suddenly shown up. There are two deaths. If, as Kesso would believe, Fener's ability was passed onto someone else or was a buddy's and was resonposible for one of the deaths, then one of the dead folk from this past night was the remaining inno role - healer or guard, whichever didn't die night 1.
But, based on the timings, it would seem most probable that Kesso's return triggered the end of night, and it seems unlikely he'd be inno roled since by his own logic the standard 3 inno roles of finder(s), guard and healer are all dead now. So instead I conclude that he is scum and sent in a kill order instead.

well I haven't exactly jumped in kesso yet, even though I voted - I still don't agree with what he said about Fener's reveal, and I honestly think it's a pretty scummy thing to be thinking about and to say. and then his 'defense' is that he was thinking out loud? then when I react on that I am suddenly scum? well freaking marvellous.
i too wish we still had a finder, so we could find out what was happening. if you have any better ideas HP, please share, I am open for suggestions.

hmm
y'all haven't heard from me in a while, b/c I had to go to a doctor and get my ankle x-rayed
I haven't been silenced, afaik
also, I may be a complete moron (what with the barely bearable pain and all), but I don't recall anyone being silenced Day 1.
in light of that, Shadow's claim looks really suspicious, to me at least.

Uh, hmmm, ya 10 minutes later, but I always put in a provisional so it couldn't have been me. I had mine in long before I went to bed. And it came back same as always, Shadow is scum. D'riss is Scum. Meanas is scum. Ruse is scum. And HP is scum. What else can I say, I'm insane finder. I'm not the most useful role. But I had a provisional in, it wasn't me who ended night.
