I went looking at Lio - the only thing he's done so far is the vote on Shadow and the post Meanas quote above. means he actually has more content than me at the moment, so I don't really feel it's justified for me to vote him. going to look at Shadow now.

OK, i've tried to concentrate...there's psuedosilly-cases on Kesso and Korlat, and sort of kinda not really suspicion of Shadow from Korlat. Shadow who has the most votes so far. Well, I wouldn't say that 3 joke votes out of 9 serious ones needed is something to get uppity about, as Korlat suggest, which makes me think Korlat is trying to add more pressure to Shadow by suggesting there's actually something serious there....

could this be an attempt at a symp signaling his master by defending him on something really weak?

The way i see it is that shadow could easily defend himself here, why does tellan feel the need to do it for him?
could be to show shadow who he is?....

Ok, I just reread the thread (not bad, since it's only 6 pages) and only this stood out. Telas says he'd try to make some sort of case, but nothing stands out. Then in his next post he makes a thoughtful "hmmm" noise and disappears. He's not really trying, but is trying to sound like he is.

I didnt like the way telas seemed to slightly go after you when you, when you had that rubbish case on shadow.
Smelled to me like a signal to shadow....

So far for me its shadow, then telas on my lynch worthy list.

in fact
Vote Shadow

edit - was became way

Telas does that? I'm not sure I see what you're saying.

oops got tellan and telas mixed up...
I still think it could be a signal...there was no need for tellan to step in and say anything about your remarks.

edit - removed pointless quotes

Well, as always, we can pursue two different avenues on Day 1 lynches

1) we can do something we never do, and dlynch a low poster

He does seem to suggest it as an option, and then says why it's not a good idea - in a later post. A little inconsistent, but I sort of read the first post as a "here are our equally crappy options".

Hmmm, I read it as we can do something we never do as if that is the better option. Meh, Im stretching, but I don't wanna waste a full day and start over tomorrow where we left off, with nothing. I'd be okay with a Telas lynch, but thats just because of the laziness. So top suspects in order of importance

Liosan (for the above)
Telas (lazy and no help)
Korlat (more gut than anything)

I agree that wanting to lynch a low poster is contra productive, since it doesn't render any information to go on.

Morning everyone!

I don't want to lynch a low-poster day 1! True we never do it, but that's because there are plenty of good reasons why someone might be a low-poster on day 1 and could still be roled or be a great contributor later on. If there's anything else to go on, it just makes sense to use that. I agree with Korlat, though, that if there was ever absolutely nothing to go on at all, then it could be as good a reason as any to pick a lynch target. Not the case here, though, we have some arguments floating around already.

The Liosan case is weak, he's just speculating courses of action where there were no cases ("oh, those were the good ol' days"), he wasn't super-advocating it or even really pursuing the idea.

The Telas case might have something to it. Actually, when he was on yesterday he wasn't logged in anonymous and was actually still in the thread for about 15 minutes after he posted that he was leaving!

Wow I didn't realize we only have 6 hours until day ends... it has been a really slow day 1.
I do hope we get a lynch by then but it seems we won't get enough votes in time. Right now I either wish to lynch Korlat based on a gut feeling that he is scum hiding in plain sight or Telas for his mindless posts.

This is the first mention of lynching low posters. FFS its day 1, why would you lynch a low poster day 1? Looking for an easy lynch and possibly drawing out a roled player. Bad form

2) we can try picking someone we think may be suspicious, and run with our gut feelings.

I used to dislike Shadow earlier in the day, as he seemed to be jumping at shadows (pun unintentional) a lot. But it would seem he's calmed down somewhat, so now I'm fairly stumped.

I'll be heading to bed soon, hopefully sleep will grant me some insight.

But wait, you already knew why its bad to try and go after the low poster (so why bring it up?)

Too much fear of hitting a power role, I'd say

and, Korv, I'm leaving soon, cba to log in invisible.

Vote Liosan

For not only being lazy, but also for being inconsistent.

Korlat ponders WHY we never lynch the low poster, Lio says the reason we don't go after low posters day 1. Notice I quoted my own post that you read, I wasn't being a dick, I was pointing out that the post you said you read answered your question.

Thats just answering korlats query as to why we never lynch low posters.

On that point, the thing that shows people who are currently viewing the thread retains them for the next 15 minutes (or if they switch to another thread). The board index, for example, says right now:
49 user(s) active in the past 15 minutes
