The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.

If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. That one of the guy who is breakdancing and boots the cat into orbit is hysterical.
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.

Family outrage at film Kick Ass violence and swearing
* From: The Daily Telegraph
* January 13, 2010 2:02PM
A still showing the character Hit Girl from the new film, Kick Ass Source: news.com.au
* Violent superhero film slammed
* Language 'offensive, values inappropriate'
* New movies, movie news, movie reviews
A FILM showing a 12-year-old girl shooting a man in the head and using explicit language has been slammed by family groups.
The movie Kick Ass, starring Oscar winner Nicholas Cage, was last month rated MA in Australia. Cage plays the girl's father who gives himself the superhero name of Big Daddy.
He trains his daughter, played by Chloe Moretz, to fight crime in the most violent way, giving her the superhero name of Hit Girl.
In the movie, Hit Girl shoots a man in the face with a gun and at one stage in the movie tells her opponents: "OK you c---- let's see what you can do now."
The rating has outraged Australian family groups who are reluctant to discredit it openly, fearing it would publicise the movie further. Australian Family Association spokesman John Morrissey said:
"The language is offensive and the values inappropriate - without the saving grace of the bloodless victory of traditional superheroes."
The film, produced by Universal Pictures, is expected to be released in April during school holidays.

Yeah I saw that version of the trailer before, I was quite shocked. I thought there were laws about kids swearing in movies... Could be wrong though.

One gets the feeling those people haven't seen a superhero comic in the last 30 years or so. Miracleman,The Authority, Powers or even such mainstream fare as The Ultimates or Infinite Crisis might show them that traditional superhero comics aren't as bloodless as they think and haven't been for quite a long time...
I get the feeling that the Mail is spoiling for one of it's hysterical "Think of the Children! Ban This Filth!!" campaigns...

I have no idea what the background to this story is but it made me laugh nonetheless... At some points he seems to look as though he is saying "If you aren't down with my moves I will KILL YOU AND RAPE YOUR WOMEN!!!"

Well Cracked has an article about some of the weirdest and creepiest broadcasts ever, and so I'm here to share.
One is a video and the others are mostly audio but since we don't have a "Awesome, weird, Funny Arse Sounds" thread I guess I'll just post them here.
PBS gets pirated
The so called backward music station
Repeating buzz
The last two aren't linked seeing how one was a porn hijack and the other was nothing but a signal strength spike from Space! But they have no links to an audio version.
But I did go and find the Wow! signal one.
Wow! Nyarlathotep is coming!
The cracked article : Here
It should be noted that normal background radio frequencies in space sound creepy as hell in any case.

I have got to watch this movie.
Kif: Sir, remember your course correction?
Captain Zapp: No.
Kif: Well, it's proving somewhat more suicidal than we'd initially hoped.
