People should be reading The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, rather than Twilight. -cries-
At least there, the vampires are believable. '
A lot of fashion and glamor too, but they don't glow in the light. A lot of obsession with mortals, too, but not as far fetched and illogical.

Please, Lestat whines and bitches more than Edward does.
No, just read Dracula by Bram Stoker, or the 30 Days of Night comics and you'll get real, bloodthirsty vampires, not whiny little bitches.
Seriously, no one thinks it weird that David Slade is directing the third Twilight movie?

Indeed. I read it like last week. Vampires are supposed to feed babies to their hungry vampire brides, not drown in angst like those in an Anne Rice novel. John Polidori and Bram Stoker knew what they were talking about.
As to Slade, dunno who he is. Don't care really, as I won't be seeing the movie. If he wants to make a shitload of money making a guaranteed box-office hit though, then more power to him.

I heard there is going to be Twilight manga...talk about a bastardised creation.
Well that would be like two horrendous abominations having a child.
While it is a bastard creation, you know that both abominations are so similar that it was going to happen sooner or later.
I found a panel from the manga they're making. Luckily it has a blank speech bubble, so have fun and be creative:

Also I found this:
Great find.

I like the vampires in Lukyanenko's Night Watch series. They get permits to go out at night and hunt orphans, and one of them turns into a car-sized rabbit to chase a train, among plenty of other cool stuff.

Anne Rice's vampires are arguably straight, sane, and logical. What do you expect?

'Tell me, Tool, what dominates your thoughts?'
The Imass shrugged before replying. 'I think of Mafia, Adjunct.'
'Do all Imass think about Mafia?'
'No. Few think at all.'
'Why is that?'
The Imass leaned his head to one side and regarded her. 'Because, Adjunct, they are sheeple.'
Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that frisbee getting bigger?" ... and then it hits me.
The Imass shrugged before replying. 'I think of Mafia, Adjunct.'

Bwgan...for future referance....open the website you want (ie www.goatsandhos.com) find the link and click to view it...then in the box at the top (http//:blahblahblah/trtgoredteam.4353=whatever)...highlight the whole thing..right click copy...then paste it into the reply box...you can't rename it (like some people make it say linky of clicky or click here for animal pron...or whatever) but it links the site anyway...

The Chicken Smiley would eat Betty smiley with no hesitation.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....
