about the rules, - i would recommend havign provisionals in form ub for the nk in case shin gets lynched, or allow shin to influence the next kill so you dont have to freeze the thread, the reason being iff it happens over the weekend then there could be a long gap and certain players will meta their way to victory.

Yeah, I'll have to check about that and make a call.

It seems that besides dktorode, all the players are in relatively similar time zones, or at least play periods, so it meta might be hard to use.

Aaah, now these last few posts make things a lot clearer for me. I always put a lot of thought into the game. It doesn't matter what the role is (imho RI is a role) I concentrate, and I always try to do what's best for my team. I thought sheeple meant not having original thoughts of your own, and not building your own cases. I feel better now, because I know that when I vote it's because I think it's right (and I try to explain my decision)...and I agonise (like in the last game re the Galain vote... it was such a relief to come to SH and find he was a bad boy after all!) When I say in thread or in pm I'm literally shaking, it isn't my normal Welsh exageration...it's a statement of fact.

And I do like the atmosphere...I wouldn't spend so much time here otherwise. Things can get hot and spicey in the game, but as long as it stays in the game that's fine. Constructive criticism politely put in SH is also really useful. Gives you a perspective of how the game was being viewed by those with all the facts.
'Tell me, Tool, what dominates your thoughts?'
The Imass shrugged before replying. 'I think of Mafia, Adjunct.'
'Do all Imass think about Mafia?'
'No. Few think at all.'
'Why is that?'
The Imass leaned his head to one side and regarded her. 'Because, Adjunct, they are sheeple.'

Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that frisbee getting bigger?" ... and then it hits me.

The noisy ones would be easier to get lynched off, so you gotta really check on which cruisers can be trusted and which can't.

You've just summarized my mantra when I'm a finder in one beautiful sentence

JA

So in other words, any finder worth their salt will be looking at me soon. I'm screwed! :p

When I die, shift my soul into "Path-Shaper" please. They'll never suspect that move!

Funny thing, I don't think I wrote a rule against that

Very nice work there Gavin.

Also, I dislike how asking for a Mod-killi is rapidly becoming a game tool that team inno tries to (ab)use to let lynches go through or prove they're not lying. making mistakes and therefore losing tempo/ days is what gives scum a chance. Mod-kills are not there to compensate for screw-ups.

I think I'll make Highlander a non-mod-kill-game.

or a punishment modkill, if an inno requests modkill to prove innocence, end day and give killers a free kill, that will discourage that sharpish.

I meant to say Gavin - your post was worthy of a . Really good stuff imho.

Have to disappear for a while, should be back in about two hours, hopefully less.

Problem there is that asking for a mod-kill is an individual's action, but the extra kill will remove a dangerous player to scum instead. I'd be livid if I'd die as the mod's discouragement/ the result of another player's easy exit out of the game - where I'd have no problem at all with being lynched or regular NKed. I mean, hypothetically speaking, I didn't fuck up there, did I? So why do I die?
Sure, that other player will probably be shocked, and I'll probably forgive and forget, but it is hardly fair to the killed guy.

I think there's a fine line and I'd be willing to test your suggestion, but bottom-line for me is that a mod-kill is only for breaking the rules or for not playing, so it's a punishment, not something a player should be able to request all by himself.

Hmm, maybne if you get mod-killed for whatever reason you CF scum automatically?

Grief is confused about the gard meltdown:

Telas said:

Rather curious about who the hell Korvalain is.
He claims we've clashed before, but I can't figure it out for the life of me.
Could be Obdigore or Bent, but I can't remember if they're Christian.
Maybe Bubba, but I can't really remember ever having clashed with him before.
Could be Morg45, but I reckon that's D'riss and don't think he's a Christian.

Think i'll go with Obdi for now...

Telas said:

I don't think korv is bubba though, think that's more likely Emur, cause I'm sure i've seen him post that Pedobear pic before...

Telas said:

Korvalain is Morg45.

The little "We've done this dance before, this time revealing for real" bit refers to a game where he(as an inno) fake claimed finder in order to get someone lynched. Luckily for him he got it right, cause if he was wrong he would've fucked up the whole game.

Wonder who this makes D'riss then...

Big Shin on dktorode's last announcement:

Sil mentioning the no internet thing is a double edged sword. Sure, it covers him by letting people know why he won't be posting. But at the same time, it clues Uncle Ben that they don't have to bother silencing Sil.

Wrong alt-guess from Big Shin:

Quote

Well, I can assume Telas is saying Korv is PeanutButta.

Either way, the "for realz" is a big whatever for me.

If I'm not blocked, PB dies (if not lynched). PB is another poster who scares me based on their gameplay, fake reveal or no, and better off dead. That fake finder reveal in the barfight was pretty brilliant IMO. Saved my partners ass for one night, and mine for several nights more.

I had better hope for a lynch, because PB = probable block on me. Probable block on me = fucked. And then I move into Path-Shaper and Scum WINZ!

PB fake-revealed finder in that bar game? Man I should go read it, if true that man is my heroe

Although that explains the world of pain I received when I did the same the game after

More from Big Shin:

If I don't get put up for lynch by a finder/guard on day 3, I have a 'case' on Lio that I'm planning to present. If I don't make it, I"ll share it on SH just for fun. It'll be direct proof as to how closely I've paid attention to this game - being killer turns mafia into religion.

What? And when Shin says he "saved my ass", and his partner's, what does that mean? Where they scum?

No, PB revealed fake finder as an inno and revealed on actual scum. He was THAT convinced of his case....and he was right. Took some guts and IIRC took the heat of Shin and his partner who were some iino role or other...heck it was the game before last...how am I supposed to remember?

Edit: Quick question that I forgot to ask...given the discussion should I change the last line of my sig (after the current game finishes - don't want to spook anyone) to

"Because, Adjunct, they are sheeple." ?? :p

The lovers have a convo:

Tennes said:

D'riss said:

Probably need to get someone lynched tonight. By the time I am back to participate, the lynch will likely be over since it's 1030 PM here and the lynch timer goes off around 7 AM, when I'm getting ready for work.

I like my Korv case, especially when he revealed guard at L-5, but if you can see a worthy one, push it on your own. I don't think I'm in trouble of getting killed or vigged tonight, but you might be considering your low-posting, which is probably what got Kesso killed, assuming Hood's Path got the vig.

Assuming I live through the night, WCS Korv doesn't get lynched but gets NK'd proving he was innocent and they got a role (unless he's fake revealing to draw a NK on his RI self), and then at 9 people we can reveal for 2-of-5 lynch votes.

There were a couple of holes in your case, mainly the fact that Korv got confused about BB knowing who UB was, not that they could communicate on thread. And the fact he only made one mistake with regards to the mechanics, you just brought it up once. I really dont understand why he didnt pick it apart, he could easily have built up a solid enough defence. He may just have gotten pissed about the religion comment (tip, dont make mafia personal, we're all just here to have fun and it's always the same bunch of people playing). So yeah, I agree, revealing finder so early is wierd. I also agree with Sil though, not giving everyone a chance to come on and counter is a bad move. The killer may take out someone else to wifom us into lynching him, we'll have to see.

Gonna try pick my posting up a little, it's unusual for me to be stone last. I try only post content and I seem to keep hitting the thread when noone else is around.

Let's not reveal until it will definitely net us a scum. Say at the point where there are 4 or 5 unknowns (including us) around. If we do have to reveal earlier than that, leaving out our role for a while may be a good idea. If we can hint that we are roled (but not confirm anything, dont want to draw a counter) we can probably draw the NK away from the actual roled players.
