You?!

STEVENAGE?!

WHY?!!?!

Monsieur PigDog has been living there for the last 2 years! The New Town part is absolutely hideous. The Old Town is about as bareable as any town on the London commuter trail. That is where all the young professionals live who work for Astrium, GSK and Roche. The Nage is cheaper to live than all the nice areas around. They have a Waitrose and everything. Plus, if you want to go out, you just hop on the train to London Town.

I did the trip to Cambridge last weekend for the Beer Festival. The Stevenage train is reeeally slow, so I don't recommend it! I can meet you all there. I might be coming from Manchester, it depends how my weekends work out.

I pity poor Mr Pigdog. And you I suppose, for having to visit him there.

Tell him to look at properties in Hertford North, train goes via pretty much the same line, and it's a much nicer place - old market town, less full of chavs, etc. I'd guess property prices arent too disimilar, but tbh Im not sure. It's roughly equal distance from London as Stevenage too, maybe even a bit closer.

Waitrose intimidates me. It's so very, very proper. Dont get me wrong, I like it, but I always feel (well, when Im in one in Oxfordshire) like people are looking at me like Im about to steal a pineapple and run off or something.

Have you guys ever heard of a game called mornington crescent? It suddenly makes way more sense after reading all of that. If you havent, I probably make none :D

If it is an old market town without as many chavs, the property prices will be astronomical!! The chavs are good for keeping the housing market down :D Stevenage weekends are for chav spotting and visiting our friends who live in London. If I've been good, he takes me to Wetherspoons as a treat.

Headcount of current guests

Definites.

Cougar
Toby
Baudin
Sir Thursday
Sombra
Illy
Imperial Historian
Dag
Mr B
Macros
Morgoth
caladanbrood II
Mezla PigDog
Ereko

with special guest - Brood

running total, including Mal and Hetan: 17

Maybes

Brynjar
Traveller

Obviously, we can't accomodate an unlimited number of people so we can't let this carry on indefinitely - anyone who was remotely interested ought to have said something by now so, barring any especially special cases (with accompanying sobstory), we are not accepting any more guests. Last year was really hectic and we'd prefer a slightly more relaxed atmosphere this time :D

edit: that is to say that Brynjar and Traveller still have the option to attend if they can make it. Also, if Macros' sister wants to come, she is more than welcome, making it even less of a sausage-fest (which, to be honest, is how we evaluate these events after the fact, ie., if it's a total sausage-fest, it's a fail no matter how good it was experientially :D)

What point a BBQ if a girl can't enjoy a bit of sausage?

I think you should put Sombra as the special guest, since he is coming all the way from Australia. He also sounds more exciting/frightening than brood :p

And damn you all for not living in the sunny part of the world B)

The cult is growing...

Rather appropriately, all things considered.

I think any of those coming from foreign countries are more worthy of being special guests. Except maccy, he's just "special"...

sister might be travelling to cambridge with me, but on a totally different venture, she goes to visit friends.
You think I would be foolish enough to let you perverts lech over my sister?

Yes No, of course not. Bring her anyway, and the friends too.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Paleman & Mrs Paleman will be there! Getting the train from Baldock (3 stops closer to Cambridge than Mezla) so might be worth co-ordinating a specific traintime as we'll be on the slower train too. Happy to share a taxi from Cambridge to BBQ venue if any of y'all are interested. We will of course be returning to Baldock the same evening so we'll not require floor space for sleeping over Mal / Hetan.

Excellent, looking forward to seeing you all now. Looking forward to how Mrs Paleman pronounces 'yes': "Yiss"
