i would guess ampelas has a guardian angel, or someone has been blocking the last killer and dosent want to make a case based on that evidence until later in the game.

Yeah I had considered the second case but... Fener got vigged last night and doesn't Vig usually happen before Kill? Meaning Ampelas may have saved herself. Tennes probably died for fingering Fener since that's pretty much all he did in his short stay here lol.
