Ok, so I figured I start a thread also for my random Malazan related sketches. I'll be updating it every now and then when I got more sketches to upload. Feel free to comment, but remember that these are just sketches.

This one is actually something I did a while back. It's just a generic T'lan Imass:

and a recent one of Karsa Orlong:

That T'lan Imass is awesome. The sword thing it's holding is utterly ridiculous, but still very cool. Imagine watching it swing that thing.

I think it would fall flat on its ass.

But the T'lan himself is very good

Yeah, Karsa is fantastic.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

both look great, but have to agree with ppl above, the sword throws it off.

Thanks for commenting everyone. I do have to agree with the sword thing. I don't know why, but I always thought that Imass flintswords would be ridiculously oversized. After all there are a lot of things that defy traditional laws of hysics and nature in the world of MBotF. I think it's probably because of the part in DG where Stormy is handed the T'lan Imass sword and it's described as being almost too heavy for him to handle properly and he's a strong bugger.

Will probably do a full body image of Karsa soon. My previous attempts at him have failed miserably, but I think I'll try again.

I love that T'lan Imass sword! Look so barbaric and rough, it's leet.

Karsa Orlong was also very good.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

I thought both of them were fantastic. I wouldn't mind the Imass sword if it did't look a bit like it had scales. Karsa's tatoos are very well done.

You take that back right away! Seriously. Calling my art manga or anime is like a slap in the face. :D

Nether, I love the Imass. It is exactly how I pictured them the very first time I read about them. I think the sword is pretty spot on, too, if just a little big. But the 'scales' are where it's been sharpened, I guess.

Dunno what you're like at drawing beasts, but a picture of one of them changing would be awesoe -- like one moment an Imass, the next an ape. I've tried it myself, but ... the less said the better ...

Aye, but that could be because it is made out of stone... So yes it would be big, but not ridiculously big. Cos AFAIK Stormy weilds it quite well...

Aside from that, the drawings kick ass! :D

That's gotta be the best take on both an Imass and Karsa that I've seen yet. Great job!
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Great job. I agree with you, that they're not manga.

I really like the Karsa one, I do like the Imass, but...it's something about the sword...I don't get it.

@Assail- AFAIK =as far as I know...
need to catch up on the internet speak.

Nether- I like the T'lan Imass, very well done. Minor detail is that I thought they had worn/weathered leathery skin rather than just showing the bones (ribcage here). Other than that I think it is fantastic. I like how the sword looks like a large arrowhead chipped using the stone tools, fits with the idea that they make their own weaponry.

Karsa is also well done.

Awesome work Nether... the sword is as I'd pictured it if a bit oversized, and I must say I like both pics a LOT.

Do you have more stuff like this? I'm absolutely curious to see it if you do.

From the look of these pics you could do this for a living!
