The more I think about this movie the angrier I get. The sheer ineptitude of the director. Think of the power of these scenes from X-2: Nightcrawler in the White House, Wolverine faces off against Death Strike, Jean dies, and most of all, Magneto escapes from prison. Go back and look at that scene again. Ian McKellen conjures a kind of nasty that would even make Anthony Hopkins hand his Oscar back. "There's something different about you today, something in your blood..." Nothing, NOTHING in X-3 came even remotely close to even the mundane moments in X-2. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I dunno, that bit where the six of them stopped and faced the hordes of magneto was pretty sweet.

Though I think if that scene had happened in X1, they would have been pwned big time. They were pretty weak in X1. Now they are all awesome powered mutants.

For some reason the reviewer at SFsite.com called it the best of the series.

I just saw X3, and I wanted to light my eyeballs on fire and stomp them out for betraying me so much.

**Spoiler alert**

1. All mutants must either go to school, or live in a hobo camp in the woods. No mutants are responsible enough to own their own homes, or even to rent.
2. The Angel story piece was unnecessary. If you cut him out of the movie, it wouldn't have mattered. Same thing with Multiple Man.
3. The mutants on the team, Kitty Pride and Colossus, had like 5 lines between them in the whole movie. Why put them on the team if they're not going to interact?
4. What happened to Nightcrawler? They could have written in one script line like "Oh, he's at church camp" or "He's dead now". Watching a fight scene with him in it would have been awesome.
5. All evil mutants must look like extras from the Blade movies (i.e. goth kid + homeless), and have crappy powers. Half of the evil mutants had superb jumping abilities and running-at-the-X-men abilities, and that was it. Not to mention the porcupine guy whose only power was hugging somebody and then impaling them.
6. If I were Magneto, I probably would have just lifted a large boat instead of the whole frickin Gateway bridge.
7. Why did Magneto have to say "Use your sonic blasts to destroy their weapons!" to the androgenous chick? It reminded me of Pokemon or something, and made it seem like no one could have figured out what was happening.
8. Two of my female friends pointed out that while Jean Grey disintegrated a bunch of Army dudes, and managed to rip some of Wolverine's skin off, her psychic disintegration powers never once touched his pants. Magical pants?
9. Why would they bring Rogue back to the school if she had no powers? Same thing with Leech (um, he sucks away other people's powers, so lets put him in with all the other mutant kids?)

There are several other terrible things about this movie (including the hackneyed ending, for Magneto and Xavier), and I am going to pretend it didn't happen.

Yesterday was an awesome day! I and some friends borrowed a projector, plugged it into my DVD surround sound system, and watched, from episode 1 onwards, the entire Star Wars Saga! It was amazing! It took us 14 hours 30 Mins altogeher (with breaks between each movie) and when everyone had gone, me and the guy crashing at my house watched Spaceballs (Mel Brooks' spoof of Star Wars).
My eyes were sore, but it was more than worth it! :(

Talking of Star Wars... Incidentally, some of the language is not work safe.

Also, in The Passion Of The Christ, Jesus dies.[/spoilers]
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Past two movies I've seen is Sound of Thunder and The Island. Sound of Thunder sucked so much I had to quit it halfway through. Only stuck with The Island because, contrary to Sound of Thunder, the special effects were kinda cool, but that was also the extent of it. All in all a good waste of money renting those two.

Just watched Schindlers List. I saw the first couple of hours of it years ago at school, but only just got around to watching the full thing. Not quite a Star Wars Marathon... I have been to Auschwitz, and it brought back some unpleasant memories... But it was a very powerful film, very well done.

Just saw District B13 in french, so I read subtitled throughout the movie. Hey, it was a step up from X-3, though. Not such a great story, but I went for the action so I was satisfied. And it had a typical "Boss Fight", against a guy who has been eating his beef and injecting his steroids since he was 3.

Saw "Thank You for Smoking" last night - hilarious. Highly recommended.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

I saw the new FF movie a year ago, from japan with english subtitles. It's supposed to be the sequel of the video game FF7, but it absolutely doesn't do it justice. Plus, I didn't think it was that great. (Not FF7, it was amazing.)

I second Oldboys greatness. I'd watch it again only for that drunken scene in the beginning. No one plays drunk like that dude!

I adored Advent Children, mind you the graphics had me hooked in 1 min. :)

Speaking of new movies though, I saw the remake of "The Omen" last night. All in all, I was very impressed, and I must say I was most definitely scared numerous times. :)
And so the First denied their Mother,
in their fury, and so were cast out,
doomed children of Mother Dark.
