The gf and I went to see the Harry Potter movie last night. It was exactly as I expected it to be. Bad acting, bad dialogue but a bit of fun. There was some good funny bits in too.
Emma Watson gets better looking in each film, though having said that I get a bit confused by her...
On one hand we have this...

You'd think this sort of thing would happen quite a lot at Hogwarts, what with the teenagers/magic combination.
(You'd think that the invisibility cloak would have been mis-used at least once; polyjuice potion also has numerous untried possibilities)

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

It's enhanced by the fact that she's the hottest girl in that franchise by a LONG shot.

Watched Southland Tales last night, what a weird, confusing movie.
Then i watched Indy 4 and all was right with the world again.

I'm there w/ you on southland tales, it was allright if confusing.
Also just saw Watchmen finally-- I thought I was in trouble w/ the 5 min Bob Dylan intro. but what a weird, dark, awesome film- a lot different than I expected but really fun none the less. The comedian is my new hero.

The comedian is awesome, but I felt the film was a little disjointed at times as it jumped from place to place and the different characters, although I loved the ending.

yeah, I watched it again w/ the subtitles on a few days later, it helped process some of the info given in the numerous back story conversations.
and Yes the ending was awesome, one of the few movies that lived up to the hype surrounding it

I saw Lars and the Real Girl a few days ago.
Some of you may have heard about this movie a few years ago when it got a surprising amount of good reviews and helped add to the Ryan Gosling hype. I finally added it to my rental list and got around to seeing it.
It's amazing. The premise - a man way up in the Canadian boonies is socially awkward, so he orders a sex doll off the internet and engages in a delusion that she's his girlfriend - could have been used just for shock value and laughs. However, the movie is perfectly cast and the turns the story takes eschew the cheap laughs for meaningful scenes. The movie constantly retains its focus on the transition of the man from lonely weirdo to socially functioning weirdo, while providing some of the best awkward comedy I've seen in a while (think of the gentler moments of The Office).
I highly recommend it to you and have given it to friends who have all loved it too.

yes, nice call there @Amp. I spent half the movie wanting to stop him from doing something PAINFULLY awkward or embarassing, but it was well done and you are right they took the high road comedy wise considering the subject matter.

The full cast for Machete has apparently been released and it's not bad !
Danny Trejo (obviously), Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Steven Seagal, Lindsay Lohan, Cheech Marin, Don Johnson, Jeff Fahey and....., Bob De Niro.
I am looking forward to this
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.

Read the book, there are infinitely more sub plots and side stories... The film was a lot easier to follow.
