Got of my backside and went to see Transformers 2 on Sunday.
It. Was. AWESOME.
Soooo many explosions....*drools*
Could have been made a bit better if theyd cut out half the sentimental lovely dovey shit and the parents popping up pointlessly, but still, a great film. Definitely gonna buy it.

I saw Public Enemies yesterday. It was alright, a bit long. It lacked a bit of depth and identity. Was it a love story? Was it a crime spree movie? Was it cop vs robber? Origins of the FBI? Well, it was a bit of all of them. The other half loved it, plenty of shooting and swaggering. I'm glad I saw it but I wouldn't watch it again.

Finally got around to watching Gran Torino last night and quite enjoyed it, although the accompanying cast wasn't up to much.
Clint played a pissier more racist version of himself than normal and I quite enjoyed his quipping and interaction with the various different racial stereotypes.
That said though the slow grind towards redemption and closure became a tad tiresome at times and wandered into sickly sweet pukesville on a few occasions.
One thing I am clear about though is that Clint has taken over from Scott Glen as front runner to play Kallor in " Malaz: The Movie" !
" Dya feel lucky...., well dooyah ya Tiste punk! " ( hack hack hack slash slash hack)
Oh yes.

PUBLIC ENEMIES.
Did not like. Acting was weak. Pace was slow. Depp and french girl had no chemistry. Supporting cast seemed to be made up of a bunch of interchangeable grim looking white guys. The bankrobbing scenes at least were well done, but fast cut/loose motion camera worked well for action scenes but not for every other scene in the movie. Depp tries but he can't save this. Waste of money.
- Abyss, ....wish he had waited for the disk or been able to convince people to see Transformers instead.

Watched "Taken" last night...kicked ass!
Just saw this. Was not impressed. Predictable in the extreme. Decent action scenes but overall just didn't like. Barely worth the price of a rental.

Watched "The Wrestler" yesterday. Pretty good movie about a down and out wrestler trying to figure out his life.
The movie is just ok, but Mickey Rourke is fanfriggintastic.

Also just saw this. Decent movie with exceptional performance by Rourke - still can't believe he looks like that now.
- Abyss, may have to watch ANGEL HEART again...

Sounds like it could be a funny comedy about a man talking to a hand puppet. Jim Carrey would be great doing that. He can appear insane at the drop of a hat. That's if it's a comedy...

See, I would use two teddy bear hand puppets for solace, myself. Then I could have threeway conversations with them! And if anyone took the piss out of me, I could KILL THEM WITH MY BEAR HANDS

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Me and my friends decided to watch Black Sheep yesterday.
Hilarious stuff really, the cracks at PETA, Sheep and New Zealand.
The best is really the evil sheep fetus in a jar.

Just watched The Hangover - It was pretty funny, had some good gags in it. But ultimately it fell short of expectations for me. After all the hype I've heard surrounding it, I was expecting it to be hilarious. It wasn't. Just a good comedy, nothing all that special. Certainly not as funny as Forgetting Sarah Marshall or 40-year-old Virgin or Old School or....the list goes on.

Watched The Day the Earth Stood Still. Pleasantly surprised. Interesting movie, for what it was. KEanu was great for the role.
Watching Gran Torino right now. Wow, they made a movie about my grandpa!
Saw Fanboys last night. Fun silly movie.
Taken was pretty good. Not very deep, but again, good for what it was. Starring Liam Neeson as Jason Bourne!

How do you put Forgetting Sarah Marshall with 40yoV or Old School? COME ON!
Hangover was a great one-time movie, but I doubt it will be rewatchable like the 'greats' of comedy, such as Yellowbeard, History of the World Part 1, and The Holy Grail.

Because it made me laugh a lot. That's all I require from a comedy. Hangover didn't really make me laugh that much. It actually was pretty lame now that I look back on it. The Chinese gangster was particularly bad - really lame.
I thought Sarah Marshall was a great movie.

Spoiler fail, Obdi.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....
