Still studying at the Uni, all though, not really doing much work there.

Quiet my job at the museum of medicine, it was getting a bit tedious.

Got my own apartment and started working at a supermarket. Supermarkets are hells first footing on earth!

Ok so i watched the Oscars last nigh, worst one in a long time by the way, barely entertaining. So has anyone seen Slumdog Millionaire? Is it that good?

And seriously. "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" winning Visual Effects and Makeup over Dark Knight, Hellboy 2, and Iron Man?
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Was it really that big a surprise? The Oscars are a great big sham, ment to fluff the ego's of the established big guys.

I put more stock in the MTV music awards... I'm not even kidding.

Turning Brad from a little old guy into a big young guy is no mean feat :D
They used a combo of CG and make-up and was the favorite for both categories. No surprises there.

Yes, surprise there. The make-up and effects in "Tedious case of Bejamin Button" is certainly not more impressive than what they did in the other films. It's just because Benjamin was a "serious" drama that it wins. Can't have entertaining action films winning oscars, that's just not right.

No, that would be blasphemy.

BTW, just saw Max Payne the other day...really disappointing:( Where did all the action go? Hardly any shoot-outs, and the acting was...meh.

Hmmm....dunno why you guys are so surprised, the movie IS shite but that has no bearing in these categories, it was definitely the favorite for both.
They did some ground breaking stuff in this film.

Honestly....Dark knight didnt stand a chance in these categories. Hell boy would be Buttons only competition in the make up cat.

Though Benjamin Button was boring as death, I fully understand why it won best make up. Special effects, on the other hand, I think was more a question of not wanting a superhero movie getting more than 1 oscar.

I like how they gave Kate Winslet an Oscar for spending forty minutes of the film she won it for shagging. Now that's how to get ahead in the movies.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I watched Punisher: War Zone

Completely over-the-top gore and action, a laughably hammy cast, plain corny as hell.

Good stuff.

Seems perfectly reasonable for Benjamin Button to win the Make Up award - I've never seen someone made up to be old quite as realistically as they managed to do to Brad Pitt. Not so sure about Special Effects, though, that one seems a little more ripe for criticism. But seriously, you can't complain about the Make Up Oscar, that one is on the level.

Sir Thursday
Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

Benjamin Button was so predictable after about the 5th minute that I wanted to eat my fist. I still enjoyed it though, because it was free and I got to see Brad Pitt dying miserable.

And I know the Irish guy is perpetually drunk, but come on, he knows Pitt for like 10 years and never notices he, far from dying as the decrepit man he originally was when they met would have, gets younger, less wrinkled, grows, grows hair, gets stronger and is clearly a freak of nature?!?

Mentally unbelievable. The story would also blatantly have got into the papers.

I watched High School Musical 3 somewhere over the Atlantic yesterday. Don't ask me why but I have a secret love of Disney teen movies. It was really quite hilarious. It was nice to see that Disney went to the trouble of casting two token black kids. Who would have thought that when all the characters paired off into asexual loving teen relationships that the black girl and boy would end up together! I was glad to see the main girl putting her boyfriend and the high school play above her future at Stanford. It has some great messages for the kids. Some of the song and dance numbers were like a cross between West Side Story and an NSync video. I was mesmerised but all the armpit hair on display left me feeling uncomfortable looking at the little boys.

It's no Grease 2, put it that way!
