Watched Sword In The Moon last night. A beutiful/tragic movie of friendship/strife between brothers in arms in feudal Korea. Great battle scenes too.

Went and saw 'the bank job'.

Good good movie, I particularly enjoyed the ending.

Anyway, there was a preview for a new movie, called 'Midnight Meat Train'... I thought they were previewing pornos now, except its supposed to be a horror/suspense flick. I was just awed that they are seriously titling the movie that and expecting people to take it seriously.

thats one of the books of blood - by clive barker.. in fact i think its the first book in blood.

Watched Snakes on a Plane last night. What a bore, although there were some hilarious, campy scenes. Even Samuel L. Jackson seemed bored to near-death, especially when he said the now legendary words: "I've had it with these motherfucking snakes on this motherfucking plane".

Two nights ago I watched another snake related movie, Boa vs. Python, and it was great! An FBI agent enlists a scientist's giant boa enhanced with a playboy-girl's "implants" to track down a giant python (80 ft long, weighing 12 tons!). A B-Grade movie if there is one with endless references to the movie's own stupidity.

Has anyone ever seen Stepmom? Susan Saranden and Julia Roberts star. It's melodramatic, formulaic, insulting-to-the-viewer trash i.e. chick flick (so I doubt many of you have had the misfortune!). Well, despite that, I've seen it about 5 times and cry from start to finish (it isn't sad at the beginning but I know what's going to happen so cry anyway). The only other film that has made me cry like that is "Who Will Love My Children". Both involve biological mothers dying a slow death and preparing their children for life with a new mommy. I judge myself to be a reasonably discerning movie viewer, but this shit gets me every time :(

saw 'Leatherheads' this weekend.

Typical campy romance comedy. Best part of the movie is a absolutely mean one-liners that Cloony and little miss 'I need to open my eyes' (I can't remember her name) shoot back and forth at each other.

Saw "Atonement" the other night. Aside from the fact that the accents of just about every character were hideously exaggerated, it was a surprisingly enjoyable film. It was beautifully shot, with some fantastic technical elements. My favourite scene was where the three soldiers were walking through a field with a small stream in it. You could hear aircraft, and the only way you could see the planes was in the refelction in the water. Nerdy, I know, but beautiful nonetheless!

Went and saw the Spiderwick Chronicles with the gf. When I saw the room was full of harrassed looking parents with scores of barely post-toddler children, I nearly balked, but I was glad I watched it in the end, because despite being a kids film, it was bloody good. Not in a clever or funny or imaginative way- it's all been done before, and there were no real jokes or anything- I cant really explain it, but it was entertaining to watch and kept your attention the whole way through. Except when I went to pee. But a good film.

Watched '21'.

Entertaining little flic that did a good job explaining how the kids at MIT ran the system.

Yesterday I watched 2 movies.

One Missed Call - So bad...it's a shame, as it started out like it might be halfway decent, but no, by the time it hits its climax it's devolved into a complete and utter pile.

Cloverfield - Finally saw this. I actually really liked it. More so than I thought I would. I imagine the shaky camera could have gotten a little nauseating in the theater (like some reviews said) but it was fine on my TV.

That's all I have to say for now.

I saw "Dan in Real Life" last night and was surprised...it wasn't too bad...pretty good actually :D

Side Note, can't believe they are actually making an IRON MAN movie...I mean...was that metal pots and pans robot really that popular enough to make a movie about him?

It'd help if you'd read any of the good comics about him. Regardless, it's a REALLY rich dude with a substance abuse problem and a goatee being played by Robert Downey Junior. There has never been a case of more perfect casting ever.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Dude, Iron Man ROCKS. He's just awesome. I have to admit to being a bit sad and owning several Iron Man compilation volumes, including different beginnings- I have a version where instead of the cell in Vietnam he gets some weird substance on his skin which is the start of the suit- its weird but cool.

Cant wait for that movie, Downey Jr's casting is good enough to provoke wet dream like responses.

That sounds more like spider-man turned venom to me.

IRON MAN is a kick ass character from the comics. Just think of him as the Marvel equivalent of BATMAN. Someone with brains, and the will to do what is needed.

I just hope the movie storyline doesn't get dumbed down too much. We at least get an origin story, but i'm hoping they lay the foundations right cos he could be a really dark character.
