Recently had an LOTR re-watch myself. It's been awhile since I watched LOTR, so I am reminded and absolutely struck anew, to my core, at how perfect Cate Blanchett is in the role of Galadriel. Enchanting, beautiful, mesmerizing, haunting ... perfect.

Watched All is Lost recently. I remember reading about this movie when it came out and made a mental note to myself to watch it eventually. Well, I've finally watched it and it didn't disappoint. I really enjoy movies like this. They break up the sameness and monotony that can set in when the entertainment biz puts out the same or very similar options continuously. Other then the narration of a short letter as the movie opens, and a brief S.O.S plea on the radio, there is no dialog. It's just Robert Redford battling for his life after his boat gets incapacitated in the middle of nowhere on the ocean. The ending is amazing. I know these type of movies aren't for everyone, but I enjoyed it immensely and highly recommend it. If you are looking to mix in something different into your entertainment options, All is Lost demands consideration.

All is Lost is what Gravity should have been.

That looks cool. Though I don't see an antagonist. Morbius is supposed to be a tragic monster sorta villain. Not seeing much of that in the trailer.

They show The Vulture in the end. You think that's a Sinister Six tease?

Reportedly Matt Smith's character (who has one shot in the trailer) is someone who is injected with whatever makes Morbius Morbius and that is what makes Morbius realize that he can't be evil and must be some semblance of good of anti-hero to fight people who would be evil with the power....or some such.

I'm really only intrigued by Vulture (Michael Keaton) being in the stinger at the end. That means Morbius is at least tangentially MCU.

Yep. Throw in Venom and the rumour about Kraven... somewhere in Sony someone is clutching an old copy of the SINISTER SIX script and hastily scratching out and rewriting names.

Am kind of surprised they've completely leaked the Matt Smith 'twist' already.

LOL

The Orange and Blue poster motif goes way deeper than this too and way further back in time. It's a thing that Hollywood marketing companies cannot seem to shake...

Finally found 3 1/2 hours to watch The Irishman last night. It was a logistical challenge so we prepped for it all day. I tend to pass out before 10pm these days and the kid goes to bed at 7ish at which point we usually start cooking dinner. Had an early night the night before, went out for a very long walk, kids afternoon movie so I got a nap in on the sofa, got him asleep for 6.45, Dominoes, just about got to the end of the film without nodding off. Can't remember whether it was good a movie, just very pleased with myself for getting it done.

Also absolutely loved the first National Treasure, haven't seen the second though. I can't imagine it being the sort of thing that gets better as it goes along though...

2 is less laser focused than the 1st, but it's still lots of fun.

IT's one of those things that if you are into the adventure and history, you'll enjoy. It's not as good as 1, but it's still a blast.
