Already... wait? Who? Oh... right... ignore me... :D

When I was in the States, there was a film coming out called the Illusionist. That's not the same thing is it?

I hope not - it annoys the hell out of me (while at the same time is a source of great amusement) that they dumb movie titles down for the American public.

Actually, I believe there is another movie coming out with Hugh Jackman and Scarlett Johannsen, where our Hugh is a suspected Tarot-card-killer-man-type-person, and the lovely Scarlett is investigating him - also looks good :D

Hugh Jackman does do good movies. Scarlett? Well, not so much I don't think...

The Illusionist is not the same movie. This one is with Edward Norton and Jessica Biel.

So far reviews have said its not super original, but not poor either.

Ahh... Thanks DW. It did look quite good, if I remember the adverts correctly...

This one's called Scoop.

An American journalism student (Johansson) in London scoops a big story, and begins an affair with an aristocrat (Jackman) as the incident unfurls.

WHAT?!?!?!

I saw Borat. Pissed myself. Absolutely f*cking quality. Top notch, naked fat guy level funny.

Saw the Prestige too, likewise superb, although the trailer is a little misleading.

And Saw 3, also brilliant. Good stuff, one of the best horror film series I've ever seen (although considering the poor opposition in Friday 13th, Halloween, etc, not surprising).

Has anyone heard anything about Apocalypto? I saw the trailer before Bond. It looks like it has potential to be good, but Mel has probably gone mental with it.

EDIT - And it's called Apocalypto!! WTF? That's the worst movie name I ever heard

Borat. Well... I don't think I have laughed so much and been so offended at exactly the same time. I really enjoyed that film.

Casino Royale was freaking awesome.

It sounds like something you'd drink for intestinal distress, doesn't it? :D

Saw Casino Royale this weekend - as I stated in the thread of the same name, not bad at all. Actually looking forward to the next Bond installment, which I haven't been able to say in a loooooooooooooong time.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

The Prestige awesome film everyone should go and see it. Brilliant acting and characterisation by both Bale and Jackman. Great story and just great film in total. Also it has david bowie as Nikolai Tesla.

I agree, on all fronts. I saw it this evening. But you missed 2 vital plus points that appeal to our more base desires!

1. Hugh in the mandatory bare chested scenes, looking fine as ever, for the ladies. There is nothing more to add.

2. Scarlett's heaving bosom barely squeezed into a corset in plenty of shots, for the gents. Even I couldn't look her in the eye.

I suppose those are 3 vital points ......

So very true Mezla Scarlett's heaving bosom was definately distracting. In fact i am unsure as to what her face looks like. (You should have seen her in "where the truth lies").

The Pick of Destiny:D
As films go, pretty average, but it was Tenecious D, so it was awesome anyway! Kind of an American Ali G Movie.

The gig will be better though:cool:
