@Abeleyn: I think I see what film you're looking for. I vaguely remember that the main character is called Lagardère - perhaps the title of the film contains that word...

Hope that helps Posted Image

The Japanese movie "GO" has just as much violence, drug references, and style as the American movie by the same. The first half (maybe as much as the first 3/4) is ultracool in a "Battle Royale" way.

So what's it about? "GO" is both a coming of age story and a love story that deals with the predjudice that Koreans get while living in Japan. It's more geared for teenagers but I really like the first half.

Too bad about Hitchhikers not living up to expectations. Hopefully the up coming release of Unleashed (Bob Hopkins and Jet Li) will make up for it. Christopher Nolans is a much better director than Tim Burton so Batman Begins should be good too.

I wouldn't really recommend it unless you know what you're in for - a brainless but fun couple of hours. Swashbuckling action all the way, but very little in terms of plot or believability!

Haven't read the book so don't know how it compares.

I saw it as well and agree you fellers. Good action flick and Penelope Cruz is a looker! Posted Image

If you haven't seen SLC Punk, give it a whirl. American punks, partying, punching and learning to live in the establishment.

The dead lady from Ju-on won't stop crawling up from my basement. She's creepy. If ever there is boredome, watch The Grudge and then Ju-on. It was fun to see how the american version explained some things.

My friendly neighbour Totoro. Love it!! Miyazaki is my hero.

12 Monkeys!! Brad Pitt and Bruce Willis, need I say more? You get to see BP's bum, woooo! If I were a mad man, i'd wanna go "mad" like that!

I really, really want to see Night Watch, anybody seen it?

Batman Begins...excellent, good plot, smashing story and loads of fun. Bale makes an excellent Batman.
War of the Worlds...oddly dissappointing for a Spielberg movie. I can't quite place it but it just felt incomplete.
Victory is mine!

Or use Kung Fu Hustle as first date material! The land lady and wife (husband oops) were priceless, I couldn't stop laughing! I love the 2 guys with the huge mandolin (or whatever the crap they were playin')! Heh, so worth it.

Unleashed, what a clichéd movie. I enjoyed the fighting but i thought the whole thing was pretty lame, except for the scene in the grocery store when jet is picking out a melon.

went to see the bat there the other night. was very goodPosted Image dont know why everyone whinged so much about katie holmes, yes she was outclassed by every other actor, yes her character was too nicey nicey, yes she didnt know to wear a more padded bra, but one of those points was at least a good one.

plus she forced raz' hand so if she was a plot device she was a good looking onePosted Image of coursde i expected when she visited wayne manor she was going to climb in a window on a ladder, but maybe that was just me.

the bat mobile friggin rocked.

@Dagger: I can imagine that it'll be kinda hard to get it in the states. I just ordered it over amazon from Germany. I can give you a review as soon as I've seen it again to tell you if it was really as good as I remember it Posted Image

Totally, he's smokin' hot! Just saw the movie tonight. I love that car/tank/mobile. Man, I wish I had one (lust). Also, Gary Oldman is the cherry on the cake.

Lines were cheesie but the bridge jumper made up for everything.

Saw The Interpreter last night. It's pretty good but it would have made a whole lot more sense if Nicole Kidman's character was black African. But then that wouldn't sell as many cinema seats I guess. Me? Cynical? Never!

I'm mentally scarred from the last series when Ross shagged Pauline over the table. Haha. One of the best lines I use often when something's gone wrong is "Wolves did it". I hope it works as a movie.

Kung Fu Hustle? I prefer God of Cookery and Shaolin Soccer.

I liked Howl's Moving Castle and Layer Cake. I wouldn't buy the dvd for either though.

The Initial D live action movie and Night Watch were really underwhelming, but I saw both without subtitles and I don't speak Japanese or Russian. The live action Initial D movie is by far the worst incarnation of it. I expected to be blown away by Night Watch. It's much better than the similarly structured Underworld, but that's not saying much.

I watched Closer the other night. Not a very happy film but I thought it was pretty good with good performances by everyone.

Can't wait for War of the Worlds now.

@Mezla Yeah, everyone I have spoken to says that Sin City is rubbish but then people always seem to say that about films I like
