Just bought HP and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 for Divid. God, I love me some HP. Part Two is going to be balls-to-the-fucking-walls awesome.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I quite liked US Marshalas aswell though it wasnt a patch on the fugitive.

On the subject of Tommy Lee Jones I watched the Hunted the other night. Not a bad film but could have been a bit longer to make you care about the characters a bit more and play out the fatherly role between the two. Still not bad

The Hunted is one of my favorite films of all time.

It doesn't need any more character development or story because it is what it is. A story of two men fighting to the death. In the end, their motivations, their needs, their morals, it means nothing. It all comes down to the hunt and the kill. That film is primal as fuck.

I know what you mean but the way at the end when you see the letters, saying you were like a father to me and the bible verse being read aloud about father and son. if that was develeoped a bit more I think it would have helped. Also the stone knife, while easily broken, was good.

HD- Saw that again the other day. Id forgotten how long it was and how much of it is spent in that tent.

DVR'd a Peter Sellers marathon off the AMC channel. One of the movies was of course Dr. Strangelove. Watched that again for the umpteenth time - Mrs McLovin had never watched it before. Don't think she much cared for it, but I love that movie.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Is the fight scene between Vin Diesel and The Rock as awesome as it looks in the trailer?

I never been interested in the Fast and Furious series, but this movie actually looks awesome.

It's a pretty good fight scene.

The whole film is just batshit insane though. And it's almost all real stuntwork and not CGI which the previous two entries had had a bit too much of. Just a really enjoyable action flick.

I'm having a tough time waiting. I don't want to buy it seeing as after the last film comes out this summer they are likely going to do a big 8-film BluRay box set and I want to wait for that so I don't have to repurchase it....but it's killing me not watching that one again cause I flat out loved the first part!!

Since I've been sick for about the past week, I've ended up doing a lot of movie watching.

Cougars Inc. - Not even Jim Belushi and the hotness of Denise Richards, Sarah Hyland and that lady from Cold Case could save this film from being completely mediocre and boring. 1 unsatisfied housewife out of 5.

Megamind - hilarious from start to finish, loved this movie to bits. 'YOU DARE CHALLENGE MEGAMIND?!' 5 evil supervillains out of 5.

Group Sex - fairly funny movie about a guy who accidentally joins a sex addicts group after following a girl he sees singing in a bar. 4 public masturbators (sp.?) out of 5.

Catfish - loved it, very interesting documentary. 4 friend requests out of 5.

The King's Speech - another great film, truly deserving of its Oscar success. 5 speech impediments out of 5.

You Again - very mediocre, did not enjoy this at all, even despite Kristen Bell, Sigourney Weaver and Betty White. 1 high school bitch out of 5.

The Dilemma - this one didn't reel me in at all either. Vince Vaughn wasn't all that funny and I've never really liked Kevin James.

Due Date - Really enjoyed this one, Zach Galifianakis nailed his role to perfection. 4 road trips out of 5.

The masturbating in the car scene is one of the funniest things i have ever seen. When i finally wiped away the tears i looked up to see the ole lady looking at me like I was crazy. Women....
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

WATER FOR ELEPHANTS... yes, yes, i know, i know... but in return she watches GAME OF THRONES...
...anyrate, she wanted to see it for the love story, the post-war circus setting period piece and Reese Witherspoon. I was content with Robert Pattinson being punched repeatedly and convincingly in the face at multiple points in the film. Could have waited for the home version, but was not bored nor irritated. I swear i've seen that elephant in like five other movies at least.

VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER. As a rental, this was fun enough. It didn't have a massive charge of people with swords running at each other screaming FOR NARNIA, but dragon vs sea serpent was sufficient payoff and i still say Reepecheep is one of the most awesome characters in the history of fantasy.

The book is actually quite an excellent historical America outing.

So i've been told a few times now.

I just tend to recoil at anything that's overtly a 'love story'.

I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Quote

Whut? The Princess Bride, Stardust,

Fantasy stories, love subplots

Quote

Casablanca,

Period piece, brilliant, love story is secondary to Rick's overall story.

Quote

My Fair Lady,

Overrated.

Quote

King Kong,

It's about a massive gorrilla who sometimes figts t-rexs. Who are you kidding? they don't even tongue kiss.

Quote

Beauty and the Beast,

Yawn whichever version you mean.

Quote

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotted Mind,

sf story about mind wiping, love story sub-plot.

Quote

Mappo & Icarium...

Bromance isn't love and anyways they fight crime! monsters.

The key is whether the love story is the point of the story or just a part of it. I don't avoid anything with a love plot... even i teared up at THE NOTEBOOK in a manly, football playing kung fu fighting sort of way... but where the love story is the point of the story, i'm not running to see it.
