Watched Zombieland last night. Been too damn long since i've watched a movie i really enjoyed. Woody Harrelson was great and Emma Stone is just flat friggin smokin.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

I actually quite enjoyed it. The acting was decent for the general cast and excellent for Hopkins. It's pretty much an 80s splatter horror, just made with modern special effects and a modern budget.

Watched BABYLON A.D for shits and giggles, pointless fucking movie is fucking pointless. Movie was seven shades of shit.

Then watched RECUE DAWN with Christian Bale, A rather strange disturbing movie.
'Cept for all the LOST characters messing with my suspension of disbelief...it was actually quite a enjoyable.

Why dont they make the whole plane out of that black box stuff?

I saw Eagle vs Shark the other day, and I still don't know whether I like it or not. There are certainly a lot of funny moments, but Jermaine Clement (a normally VERY funny guy from Flight of the Conchords) was quite annoying and his co-star outshone him on just about every level... Still the

Wolfman was ok. If you are looking for the 80-s style gore splatter with some good performances from Hopkins and Weaving, and Del Toro was ok (he looks like a retired boxer, his face is so beat up), Emily Blunt is a rather nice looking young lady, anyway, to end this run-on thing, it was ok. Good if you want to see heads slashed off and intestines laying around on the ground.

The Invention of Lying was terrible, just plain terrible. I almost shut it off halfway through, but made myself finish. It just wasnt funny and Jennifer Garner, who somehow keeps getting uglier btw, her character was nothing but annoying.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Daybreakers - This started off looking as if it was going to be a fun new take on vampire films, but it really went downhill in the second half - to the point where the ending was downright laughable and groan-inducing. Go for the inventive take on vamps, stay for the absurd, over-the-top gorefest into which it deteriorates.

Crazy Heart - Jeff Bridges is getting raves for this, and yes, the Dude is in fine form; however, that can't save this movie from its sluggish pace, which had me dozing off repeatedly throughout. It was rather amusing to see Colin Farrell singing country and western music. Not bad, certainly not great.

Sherlock Holmes - This was actually quite a bit of fun; I enjoyed RDJ's take on Holmes more than I thought I would and the story moved briskly enough. I definitely enjoyed the fight scenes where he analyzed his moves and their effect on his opponents before executing them. I'd recommend it.

Men Who Stare At Goats - This was an odd little film. Funny at times, but ultimately left me feeling a bit 'huh, that's it?'. Fine acting from Spacey, Clooney and Bridges (this time as a washed-up hippie squad commander).


@SB - Yes, Invention of Lying was complete shit. Gervais can just stop now. Please.

It pisses me off how expensive it is to get hold of all six Star Wars films. Yes, I know the prequels were crap, blahdiblah, but I still want all six so I can watch them in order. If most films get really cheap after being on DVD 6 months or a year, how come these still cost through the roof? No fair!




In other news, I watched The Departed again the other night, and yes, it was still awesome. I even thought Leo DiCaprio was good, though clearly Jack Nicholson pretty much single-handedly makes that film great.

I watched this two nights ago. It had some laughs at the beginning. Then... it stopped. It stopped being pretty much a comedy altogether, and started in with the philosophy. I DON'T WANT RELIGIOUS PHILOSOPHY IN MY COMEDIES UNLESS IT DOES IT WELL. And, TIoL does not. I still like Ricky Gervais, though.

(Jennifer Garner is still smoking hot. Don't fool yourself. :D)

still thought they handled the rugby really well and the movie was both entertaining and feel good so thumbs up from me.

Asda is always worth checking, they have some bloody good prices on movies and a surprisingly decent selection.

I went to see The Road the other day. I haven't read the book. Anyone know what's with the dudes missing thumbs?

Anyway, post-apocalypse movie with associated cannibalism followed by a donner kebab. Couldn't shake the feeling it was a human kebab! The movie is alright. Rather bleak! Pretty depressing. I cried at the end. You get to see Viggo's ball sack (more to my mums taste than mine!). It at least clarified for me that if I ever live through the initial stages of an apocalypse, I'm going for suicide soon after.

If faced with a choice between apocalyspe Denzel or apocalypse Viggo, go with Viggo and his sack (unless you are Christian and enjoy being preached at). Otherwise, just go and see Avatar again.
