This looks pretty interesting, based on a Cormac McCarthy novel it comes out in the Autumn. Aragorn is always entertaining, especially when he's in post-apocalypse survival mode.

Also i'd not heard of this but the cast looks incredible. The Expendables, mercenary flick with Stallone, Statham, Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Danny Trejo (yay !), Eric Roberts, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Charisma Carpenter ! Not much info but there are some shots from the set. This could be brilliant or total shite.

Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.

If it hews true to the book, as did No Country For Old Men, I'm genuinely unsure how audiences at large will react to this movie. The book is POWERFUL and even got adopted by Oprah as a Book of the Month, but I still don't think it's going to be a popular hit.
I do hope it will be an amazing movie, which will win a bunch of awards though.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

heard they held it over from last year to get the efffects sorted out but instead of releasin g it straight away wanted to keep it until it was back in oscar contention time, so the studio obviously thinks they have a winner.

I can only assume this is The Road, by McCarthy. A singular sort of literature that wasn't real accessible, but definitely chock full of drama and emotion. I'll be interested to see what they do with the movie.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Watched THE MACHINIST for the first time last weekend...interesting movie.
Strange and creepy, i dont know how the hell Bale put on all that weight for batman begins only a few months later he looks like he just came out of Auschwitz. His eye brows even looked to big for his emaciated face...eegh!
Watched CHOKE , very cool movie.
Based on a book by Chuck Palahniuk (fight club), its a damn decent dark comedy.
Sam Rockwell rocks as usual, cant wait to see what he does in IRONMAN2
BALLSOUT was ok...had its moments,
SLUMDOG was a very good movie, but i dont see what all the hype was about.
If you ever get a chance to watch THE VISITOR you should give it a bash, very good movie.

According to my vast intelligence network... just those two.
Allthough there is a rumor of a third banned one that involves Wolverine and Richard Simmons in a comprimising situation.

Hate to beat a dead horse, but I care about you people and want to get the warning out iin as many places as possible. Terminator is so bad I am personally offended that someone expected me to enjoy it. I wanted so bad for this to be great. It is anything but. One of the worst movies I have seen in years. See my post in the Terminator trailer thread for details. Revoltingly bad movie. For shame, anyone associated with this garbage. I'm sure that it will make enough money to warrant a sequel anyways, but this franchise has just been killed. Once again, do not pay money to see this movie.
Most of you are aware of my objection to internet piracy. In this one case, I would make an exxception. I understand that most of you will feel compelled to see this despite my warning. Do not pay money to do so. You'll only encourage them.

Since I don't believe I've really posted in this thread, an update for movies I've watched in the past month or three (that's a lot):
In no particular order (mainly as they come to mind)
Star Trek - Fantastic; cheesy plot but definitely entertaining. Not a trekkie, though.
Crank - Pure entertainment and adrenaline.
Crank High Voltage - The most ridiculous movie ever, but also very entertaining.
Dragonball Evolution - I stopped watching ten minutes in; I was laughing too hard its terribleness.
Fired Up - Surprisingly funny in many parts.
Underworld
Underworld 2
Underworld 3 - Definitely entertaining, given that it has some genuinely cool vampires
Pineapple Express - Meh.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall - I wanted to like it, but it was merely okay. A few funny parts.
Role Models - Pretty funny.
V For Vendetta - Enjoyable, even if I don't remember the plot all too well...=/
Probably forgot one or two there.

@Sixty - I watched "Fired Up" the other night (merely for lack of any other comedy to download), and I was quite surprised at how funny it was. Not nearly as awful as I thought it was going to be.

I've seen that far too many times, but it is damn good. The plot is kinda complicated

I re-watched Anchorman the other day... I never realised it had Seth Rogen in it.

I couldn't remember him in it either, so I looked it up on imdb. Holy crap, he was in an episode of Dawsons Creek, too. Thats hilarious.
