I'd recommend checking out THE PRESTIGE as well if The Illusionist wasn't up your alley. I enjoyed both.

Oh, I would give that one a chance. It's only the similar topic they share. "The Illusionist" is simply a badly done movie, regardless of the topic it deals with.
The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.

I just finished Appaloosa. I wish it had of been better.

Viggo was fantastic, as always. But everyone else was stale and wooden in comparison. The movie seemed to go on forever because of it.

What about Ed Harris? I love it when he plays bad guy roles.

Uhm, what? Have you ever even seen Rambo? I'm assuming we're talking the first one here.

Rambo, first blood, has a great story, believable characters and a gripping theme.

And the blood and guts is relatively limited.

Of course if we were talking Rambo 4, then yes... very violent and lots of guts, but there's still a good story in that film.

The first one, is called First Blood, the second one is called First Blood part 2, the third one is called rambo 3, the latest one is called Rambo.
Shame on you for not knowing your Rambo Names!

The first film Rocked, second one not so much, third one pants, latest one, meh "storyline" has been done to death and isn't that well executed, but John Rambo literally ripping some guys throat out in front of the niave christian lady makes it suitably awesome
I wanted blood and I got it

So last night I was walking downtown for some pizza at like 1am with some friends of mine,
and someone said, "I'm so hungry I could eat a whole pizza."

I said, "I bet I could eat 100 pizzas," and no one understood me. I was sad.

Anyone seen the new Clint Eastwood film, Grand Turino? It's one of the best films I've seen in ages.

It's about some hard bitten Korean war vet who get's fucked off with some local gangs. HAs some great one-liners too.

Agreed. PRESTIGE was a totally superior film.

I'm always nostalgically annoyed that Rambo dies in the very first book but lived in the film. So much pain could have been avoided that way.

Altho, to be fair, 3 has some fun one-liners.

I'm SO psyched for this movie. No one kicks butt like Clint. Not even Chuck Norris.

I watched City of Ember last night. It's a fun little family-friendly fantasy-adventure flick. It's got Bill Murray in it - he was pretty decent. Mostly 'meh' though.

It would have been cooler if I was completely baked, I'm sure...

He does look old, but he's the hardest old person in the world. When you watch this film you somehow buy the fact that this 78 year old man can frighten the shit out of gangsters. He's like Tom Highway from Heartbreak Ridge crossed with victor Meldrew.

Clint would batter Chuck

Clint Eastwood has always been one of scarriest toughguys out there. I mean even in the interviews he does as a director you just get that "don't fuck with him" vibe. I remember when he got the oscar for the unforgiven he was just rambling on but nobody turned on the oscar music. That was Clint Eastwood standing up there :p

I wish we had someone like him nowadays. I think the closest we've got is vinnie jones.

I watched City of Ember and Eagle Eye on my last plane journey. Eagle Eye was better than I expected. Not great but a reasonably solid action thriller.

And I just went to see Twilight, which for some reason I have been dying to see. I thought it was great, so long as I look at it from the point of view of someone who remembers what it is like to be a teenage girl!! It wasn't interested in plot nuances and there was a lot of the Edward looking brooding and Bella looking breathless and I laughed at it rather than with it quite a few times. All-in-all, it was entertaining.

I had to see it on my own because the other half wouldn't go when I was at home. I have never seen a cinema screen with so many alone women watching! If you want to pick up chicks, this is the place to go, but you will need a good explanation as to how you come to be there alone and are not gay.

No, no you couldn't pick up chicks there, because they will be comparing you to the SPARKLEY VAMPIRE fellow and you will fall short to their misguided eyes. Also here is a short, accurate and unbiased review of Twilight.

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

LOL! That is pretty accurate! Like I said, perfect for teenage girls. The vampire family is hilarious. They all have weird facial expressions that are supposed to make them look mysterious but generally make them look constipated. Bella spends most of the movie on her back, sticking her boobs out and breathing heavily. And she isn't freaked out when she finds out Edward has been watching her sleep for 2 months before they got together! Surely that is taking liberties!

Oddly enough, I do have a lot of respect for the guy who played Sparkleby Vampirington - he admitted in an interview that he hated the book, felt that StephanieBella was a massive self-insert, complained about how everyone was "creaming over the character of Edward", said he only got the role by playing him as a 108 year old virgin who hated himself instead of the perfect being described in the books and played by every other actor there for the part, and best of all is one of the only two possible people who leaked some chapters of the newest book online, provoking the author into a sulk and declaring she wouldn't finish it. So I'll let him off. It'll be interesting to see how they film the childgrooming and pedophilia parts of the later books, though. And by interesting I mean torturous.

And yes, I HAVE been subjected to shrieking Twilight fangirls since I've been gone, and no, I haven't even begun to feel bored with taking the piss out of the books yet. They owe me.

Just remember to shout FABULOUS every time Edward steps into sunlight.
