watched Tropic Thunder the other day. Quite funny in a pleasant sort of way. Tom Cruise did his first enjoyable role in a long long time

rewatched Stargate the original movie last night.
Man I love that shit.
Actually got the GF to sit through it too...and she liked it!
I'll make a sci-fi nut out of her yet.

Now that I've started getting baked again, I can't remember what movies I watched...I know I watched some...durr, umm...
Oh, yeah! I saw Indiana Jones....color me unimpressed. Blasphemy, I know, but that movie was rather lame.

I watched 'How to lose friends and alienate people' with the GF. Enjoyable, if somewhat cheesy. The ending was what you expected, but somewhat different, so meh.

Run Fatboy Run: Good stuff
Forgetting Sarah Marshall: Very good stuff
Baby mama: decent, could have been much better if they had tried to fit more jokes in. The jokes were funny, just didn't happen enough.

Have recently come back from watching "Eagle Eye".
Luckily I went into it without much in terms of expectations.
A good film, good as defined by lots of explosions, and an interesting base premiss.
The premiss is unfortunately ruined by a whole bunch of clichés.
A nice little popcorn movie to go see while waiting for the November and Christmas movies to come out.

Saw "Burn after reading" this afternoon. Great movie, great actors, great fun. Just what I needed to make my day...

Watched "The Orphanage" yesterday. After hearing a lot of positive things about it in advance, I was slightly disappointed - I don't know where all the praise for its originality came from, since the movie seems rather like a mixture of "Poltergeist", "Dark Water" and several other horrors. Still, it is a well made movie with good actors and impressive visual aesthetics. Definitely worth watching - if one leaves high expectations behind.

Watched Zohan. It was ridiculoous, but better than expected. It was no Happy Gilmore, but it hhad funny moments.
I also watched The Happening. Very good movie. I odn't know why this movie has gotten so much shit. True, Wahlburg's acting was not good. bad in fact. Other than that though, it was very enjoyable.

Saw the latest Indiana Jones. Should have just watched Raiders instead.
I get so fed up with sequels that just copy the original film - truck scene, check; plane scene, check; fight with big guy choreographed in exactly the same way as fight in Raiders; check - oh, hang on, swap death by propeller for death by insect.
Include cameos by characters that had some depth in original, only to give them a crap script and nothing to do except tag along; check. Make film look worse by using unnecessary bluescreen shots instead of a set; check.
What a sad waste. George Lucas should be banned from cinema.
On that note, the new season of Heroes does the same - new quest? All characters alive again? Everything back to how it was in season one? Lazy...

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I just watched it too. I didn't mind it. Maybe because I was expecting the worst movie ever, but it wasn't bad. Flawed, certainly, but it was fine.

That was my gripe, really... it was playing it too safe - so no new ground, just essentially reshot scenes.

watched burn after reading last night. Not the most brilliant of the cohen movies, but it was a lot of fun and very entertaining I think. By no means the movie of the year, but well worth the money still

Watched 'Body of Lies' over the weekend.
Entertaining. Not brilliant, and it seems to run a little long near the end, but a good movie.
