I just watched the Shawshank Redemption of the first time ever. I'm amazaed how many other prison movies and television shows have stolen from this film... it's ridiculous.

Yeh and this is not only the best prison film but the BEST FILM EVER.

Not like Blade Runner which started a trend of better films. Now ill just wait for the abuse from Blade Runner fanatics

Amazing movie. I can't believe you're just now seeing it, as many movies as you watch. There have been entire movies made that are nothing but rip offs of this one.

The last castle, Lock Up, The green mile (all though that's also a King film), Prison Break, there's another film that springs to mind but I can't quite remember the name...

Well, I would say just because a movie involves a prison, and an innocent prisoner doesnt make it a knock off of Shawshank...

Shawshank just happens to be the best prison movie ever....
