Went to see WALL-E last night with the GF, it being one of the only well-reviewed movies at our shitty theatre.

I was bracing for another disney CGI shitpile, but Wall-e was IMO very well done. One of the best CGI films I've seen in a very long time, like since Toy Story came out. Sure Wall-e is emo personified, but I just thought the animators did an extremely good job in the first half of the movie getting across the character, his emotions, his situation, all pretty much without dialogue. I won't get all into it cause of spoilers and such, but Wall-e easily gets a 9/10 in my books for an animated kids movie.

They are getting so damn good with the CGI animated movies now. Stuff doesn't move like robots anymore, even the robots!! All the motions are super fluid and natural, stuff looks like it obeys the laws of physics somewhat. Very cool all in all.

It made my 5 year old niece cry. Something sad happens. *runs away to join the circus*

I never quite understood why everyone can call a movie good, but the endings suck.
The endings are a huge part of the movie, if it was an abortion, how can the movie be good? It doesn't make sense.

Easy. As you're watch for the first hour and 20 minutes, you're thinking "This is pretty good. I'm enjoying myself, and am thoroughly entertained." Then the last 10 minutes sucked. It does spoil the effect of the whole movie, but doesn't change the fact that you enjoyed it for 80 minutes.

Iron Man = total win, loved it
Prince Caspian = I love C.S. Lewis and thought these have been good so far, but he left out the bow competition with the DLF???
Indy = no more improbable than the others and EUPHEMISM! Harrison Ford looks good for 66!
Wall-E = very good, but the opening cartoon short was brilliant and worth the whole price of the movie on its own.

Want to see:
Hancock - sounds worth it, even with the bad
Wanted - must see, Jason Bourne meets the Matrix with Angelina Jolie, uh, how could it be bad?
Dark Knight - no comment needed
HellBoyII - looks great

Not sure about:
Hulk
Kungfu Panda
Get Smart

These look good for late summer/fall:
Mirrors
Death Race
Babylon AD
Taken
Eagle Eye
Max Payne
Quarantine
Quatum of Solace

This is easily the most movies that I wanted to see in the same year ever.

Easily.

This might be the worst movie I have seen eyt this year. Massive plot holes, awful characters, and no where near good enough action for me to make forget about it. Loom of Fate? Come on.

Spoiler

I saw Wanted. It was pretty silly. But, and this is what makes it unmissable, it has Morgan Freeman saying motherfucker.

Morgan.

Freeman.

Motherfucker.

I don't see how you can't see it.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Shurque, Get Smart was great, imo.

I do want to see the new 007, but I saw a preview for eagle eye, and it looks somewhat stupid.

You might be the first person to refer to a woman as a bird since the 40's. I am impressed.

:D It is a well used term in Australia also.

I say it to the girls at work because they find it sexist.

I watched Dark City again for the first time in years last night. It's just a fucking awesome movie.

This movie is tragically overlooked in its awesomousity.

- Abyss, notes Keifer Sutherland pre-Jack is even surprisingly good in it.
