I watched Dark City again for the first time in years last night. It's just a fucking awesome movie.

Yeah, that must be one of the very best SF movies of all time.

Now I want to watch it again, but sadly don't own it. I might need to fix that.

Just watched Rambo, the new one. Not bad from a pure action movie standpoint. Stallone will not get his oscar for his acting, I think. Blonde girl was annoying.

Saw I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry. NOt great, some amusing points, basically 45 minutes of gay jokes followed by some contrived Awwwww moments. Worth a dollar to rent.

edit: I just read on imbd that this movie was supposed to show the tow main characters kiss in the courtroom scene, but this was changed because a gay kiss would have earned the movie a R rating. That's messed up.

What? I think that's false, RLY. They show gay dudes kissing on regular TV any time they want these days. MTV especially likes to show man-on-man lip-locks. Maybe it's true; it just seems unlikely that it would earn an R-rating.

I'm just quoting imdb. I have seen man-kissing on tv. Maybe It was barely a pg-13, and the kiss was just enough to bump it over. Maybe the was a lot of tongue involved. I don't know. Maybe the whole thing is BS. If a gay kiss does get ANY extra consideration though, that's not right.

The ratings go by a point by point system. IE 14 open mouth kisses are pg-13, 15 go to R. I am just making up the actual numbers, but that is the system in use. I would think with the clevage and all the gay jokes and sexual things like kisses added up to an R rating, and they were told how many points they had to take out to make it PG-13. So they remove that instead of one of the gay jokes or any of the skimpy outfit scenes.

I highly doubt it has anything to do with the fact that the kiss was gay.

Went to see WALL-E last night with the GF, it being one of the only well-reviewed movies at our shitty theatre.

I was bracing for another disney CGI shitpile, but Wall-e was IMO very well done. One of the best CGI films I've seen in a very long time, like since Toy Story came out. Sure Wall-e is emo personified, but I just thought the animators did an extremely good job in the first half of the movie getting across the character, his emotions, his situation, all pretty much without dialogue. I won't get all into it cause of spoilers and such, but Wall-e easily gets a 9/10 in my books for an animated kids movie.

They are getting so damn good with the CGI animated movies now. Stuff doesn't move like robots anymore, even the robots!! All the motions are super fluid and natural, stuff looks like it obeys the laws of physics somewhat. Very cool all in all.

Watched Hancock today. It was good, but the ending was an abortion.

Just watched Ong-bak, having heard loads of great things about it for ages.

I whole-heartedly agree, it was pure win. :D

I mean, a high speed auto rickshaw chase? Classic. :D

Not to mention the abysmal acting from some characters, the stereotypical villan in the wheelchair with the voicebox, awesome martial arts, and a woman with quite possibly the most annoying voice EVAR.

I never quite understood why everyone can call a movie good, but the endings suck.
The endings are a huge part of the movie, if it was an abortion, how can the movie be good? It doesn't make sense.

Well, the Movie was entertaining and funny the whole way through. And then they made the end corny and silly. But it didn't ruin what came before.

I Am Legend was a good movie with a bad ending. Its just the way I see it.

The original ending of I am Legend makes far more sense and is brilliant. i mean before Hollywood destroyed it.

Watched Hancock yesterday thought it was brilliant but i agree the ending was a bit of a cop out. If it happened as i thought or how it was portrayed then it would have made the film better IMO

But, if they spent more time fleshing it out, it wouldn't have been released for the 4th of July. Oh Noes!
