Indeed, only the ending ruined it. It could had been the Godfather of the new millenium, instead it was ruined with a typical hollywood solution. Can't have people rooting for a gangster now can we... ;)

I thought it was way better than Shaun of the Dead, personally - I love the ending, and I thought it was just a much better storyline (and funnier). I like murder mysteries.

I saw "MONGOL: The Rise To Power of Ghengis Khan" (and if that ain't a great movie title, I don't know what is ;)) It was made by a Russian, in Kazekhstan (how the heck do you spell that?), with mostly Japenese actors speaking Mongolian. It was pretty good although a little disjointed as it covers his childhood to the unification of the clans. And they cut loads of battles, probably to save budget. It's a bit of an anti-climax watching the barbardian hordes gather on the Steppes and then cutting to the battle aftermath. Plenty of CGI blood though, so that's something......

Just watched "The Happening" and I'm very, very glad I just watched it on a streaming site instead of in the cinema.

It's hard to describe how crap that film is but to sum it up, It's like someone had a really bad horror movie idea and hired a worthless B-movie director and screen writer to make the film and you then, for some reason no one will ever understand, got them a hundred millon dollars and a few big hollywood names. Then when all the money was secured and the big names, you thought "Oh, seeing as this is sort of serious now, we'd better slap some "dramatic" scenes in there for the critics to lap up...

Spoiler

God I hate M Night Shamalalaguy...

I'm sure it can't compete with the movie where John Wayne played Genghis Kahn. Seriously. It happened.

I love John Wayne movies. In Stagecoach he kills 5 Indians with 1 bullet. And they get thrown off their horses as if theyve been hit with sledgehammers.

The man is class. ;)

Anyone seen the trailer for "Teeth"? I think that's what it's called. Essentially, it's about a young woman whose vagina has teetch and is a vicious thing that needs to feed on human flesh. You can imagine what it feeds on.

It's like an Armin Miewes porn movie dream.

It's been through a limited release. Apparantly it is one of the worst movies of the year. A man-hating, godawful movie with no real plot.

I'm inclined to believe the reviews.

There's always the rear entrance.

Also, I went with my family to see the new Hulk movie, and I liked it a lot. It was about a billion times better than the Ang Lee Angstathon, too.

Incidentally,

No wonder he's so pissed all the time.

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.
