I don't know...have those two venerable guys finally ran out of gas? Are they typecast now? At least DeNiro has done some comedies with Ben Stiller and Billy Crystal....I long for the days of movies like HEAT.

Heat was amazing. Haven't seen too much of Val Kilmer since then.

He followed the Kevin Costner path to success in that he climbed a few steps and the dove off.....endlessly falling....just falling....
There's a new flick coming out about the true story of Genghis Khan called Mongol....I want to see it even though it's not a domestic film.

Kiss kiss bang bang had Val in it and it was pretty fucking funny...
also I think Kilmers best role to date is that of Doc Holliday in Tombstone...
yup hands down...

New trailer for the latest Pacino/Deniro teamup Righteous Kill. I don't know whether to care about this because these two guys are capable of such quality or to be terrified it's a turd in the blender...almost ready to serve....![:)](https://forum.malazanempire.com/public/style_emoticons/Malazan/smile.gif)

It's so strange. They're brilliant actors and then they're making something like this. From the trailer it looks like some crap mix of hollywood cops and 15 minutes.
When you look at what those two are producing now a days and what they did in the past, I'm beginning to believe what Francis Ford Coppola said in an interview. They got rich, they got fat, they got lazy, they lost the edge.
It's funny, what I most liked about Heat was Pacino and De Niros one on one conversations. I'd like to see a scene with them where the dialogue was written by Quinten Tarrantino. It would blow your head off

Yes but he's also been in more movies that you can't name or count....
But yes, Tombstone was awesome.

The Man. There willl never be a better representation of Doc. Kilmer should have an oscar for that role, and another for The Doors.

The reason Kilmer doesn't have an oscar is because he is a total arse. It's not just about the acting

I'm still a firm defender of the second VHS tape in the Titanic film. THe part where the boat is sinking and all those foolish poor people are trying to get out and then the guy shoots one of them...is totally great. Plus the part where the boat goes vertical and everybody's falling off and bouncing off the propellors and shit...how is that not awesome.
Oh yeah, and the winslet boobies are nice
Other than that though...the movie doesn't deserve 18 playings. Good god.

oh yeah,
going to see indy jones tonight. Aside from the cunning "it will never be as good as the original" comments you hear from fanfolk, is it total shit or should I brace for a dosage of pure unadaultered win.

And a spoiler-ridden rant on the Indy flick, in three parts.

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I generally liked it, though you could clearly see the signs of George Lucas' greasy fingers trying to ruin all things good in this flick too

oh noes...lucas strikes again.
we need to invent caption pictures involving george lucas, and their use could be when somebody is ruining something cool for somebody else.

If Lucas actual talked to anyone outside his sychophantic circle instead of sitting round wacking off ewoks on that ranch then he might be able to make a decent film, the fact is he is so out of touch with what would be cool he cocks everything up

Saw Indy 4 last night, was partially drunk but still thought the end was ridiculous. Overall good fun though, plenty of cool action and humour, on a par with Temple of Doom maybe, would've been better except:
