A film that starts with Denzel wonder negro Washington setting fire to a guy and then blowing him away, deserves your attention for at least an hour, at which point he blows away some more people... It's all good.

Aye, the beginning was definitely promising. I just found my mind wandering a little too much; perhaps I have ADD or something.

It was a good movie...well made and excellent acting. I felt the pacing was off, though, and as such never got totally into it.

This is essentially the entire plot, so stop here if you want to read it sometime.


The infection covering the world is vampirism, with the allergy to sunlight and garlic, spread throughout the world by duststorms after nuclear explosions somewhere. There are two types of vampire, the living which retain some kind of intelligence, and the animated dead which dissolve into dust upon true death and generally run around trying to eat you in a senseless way. Robert Neville spends the whole book learning about germs, discovering the vampire germ and surviving in his house, beset by vampires every night. Eventually, living vampires who have also discovered the germ have found a way to survive without blood, and give Neville an ultimatum to leave or be executed, along with all the undead vampires. He doesn't leave, and comes to the realisation that the living vampires are the new human race and he is the myth for them, hence the I am Legend title. Then he commits suicide with some cyanide before they put him on trial.

There's more to it, but you get the gist of it.

As the movie comes to an end, Neville, woman, and boy are behind the protective glass with the captured vamp. The vaccine or whatever is working on her. Head vamp is bashing on the glass, which is cracking; he's going nuts. There's a butterfly tattoo on the captured vamp which is somehow significant (or not, I don't know). This captured vamp is the head vamp's lady friend and he wants her back. At any rate, Big Will and the head vamp have a moment, and a consensus seems to be reached. The captured vamp's IV is taken out and she starts turning ugly again; Will carries her out to the head vamp, who keeps the other baddies from devouring him. The head vamp takes his lady, makes little vamp cooing sounds and the lot of 'em head out, leaving Will and co. unharmed. Cut to Will and co. driving in an SUV on a sunny highway, broadcasting the 'survivor' message from earlier.

Yeah I just watched this last night, I was really disappointed with the whole ending thing. The ending of the book made a powerful statement, the ending of the movie probably just tested well.

I can't remember if I mentioned that I went to see The Bank Job... I enjoyed it. Overly gratuitous nudity and violence, trying to be a little too much Lock, Stock meets Life on Mars, maybe (without the time-travelling, that is) but I definitely enjoyed it. Maybe lacked a properly satisfying ending though. Sure, the right things happened, but it could have done with a lot more... impact.

So I watched Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story yesterday. It had its moments...not as funny as I'd hoped, though. The got a lot of mileage out of the last name Cox, let me tell you. It's long too, a bit much. While the music starts off funny, it's annoying by film's end. Still, I got quite few laughs.

Saw Die hard 4 the other day.

Was a decent action movie. If a just a little bit of horseshit here and there. But still an enjoyable popcorn movie..

I don't know...it was Diamond release; quality was excellent. Put it on DVD and noticed no problems.
