I disagree about AvP:R. If it hadn't been free I would have said it was a waste of money... really bad continuity, no storyline to speak of - no reasons for any of the stuff that happened. All that sort of thing.

Plus I was pissed when the hot chick died. I thouht she was gonna get it on with Charlie Brown :(

We're pointing out it's worse than the first film. Which killed my father in Vietnam.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I'd still say it was worse. At least the first one had like, an ice pyramid. And a proper villain.

You've obviously mistaken AVP 1 with some other, better film. Lucky bastard.

in AVP1 I liked the Archeologist and him talking; that was about it.

AVP2 had a lIne that had the entire theater burst out laughing
"THAT'S CRAZY!!! THE GOVERNMENT DOESN'T LIE TO PEOPLE!!!!"

hot chick's death was so mundane and casual... that it was kinda funny...

I Watched Juno last night. I thought it was really good.

It was funny, but potent also. Good movie.

Saw Stardust on DVD last night... very charming movie, true to the novel in spirit. I wonder why it didn't do better... maybe movie-viewers have fantasy fatigue?

I wrote a review on it, search for the thread on the film to read it. Thread title's 'Stardust', convienently. At least I think so.

I liked Stardust a lot.

Anybody looking forward to Rambo? That movie looks like boiled turds on a big screen...and that "Let the Bodies hit the floor" song in the background during the US commercials IS AWFUL.

I hate Drowning Pool.

Well, I can't argue with that math!

Supposedly the purpose of the new Rocky and new Rambo is Stallone wanted the series to each end on good notes, not the terrible blasphemy that was Rocky V and the Poop Juggling Rambo III remix.

Yet you have to wonder why a man responsible for Judge Dread even tries to pretend he has a soul.

The man is too old to still be Rocky, and too old to still be Rambo. Let sleeping dogs lie

Still, we shall see. I'll probably go and see it, but I don't have huge expectations.

I spun off a Movie Reviews blog from my original (more angsty, personal) blog.

URL: http://diwanflix.blogspot.com

Check it out... This will feature reviews for any movies I watch and really like in time to come (I generally don't waste time on movies I hate, exceptions being stuff like Spiderman 3). Comments/ rants/ raves welcome!

Whoa. Rocky Balboa was an awesome movie. By the time the fight started I was on the edge of my seat. It was like a return to the first one,

As for the new rambo, It looks like they went the wrong way. The should have gone with the original, First Bloods charcter depiction of a tortured veteran, and seen what Rambo was like twenty years later.

The trailers I've seen looks like a remake of hot shots part deux.

It's like watching a geriatric wage war on "those damn rapscallians!"

And Stallone, while in great shot for being 87 years old, is starting to look like a T'lan Imass

Stallone has become a bit wrinkled true, but he's still in a better shape than most of us will ever be. Granted he probably gets a new liver and kidneys every five years, but still.

Stop picking on sly, damn young hudlums, disrespecting the action heroes of old.
