Just watched Deat(h)proof. I guess it was the extended edition at around 100 minutes. I'm slpit in two over this film, meaning I thought the first part was fucking awesome and the second part was THE GREATEST CAR CHASE SCENE EVER IN THE HISTORY OF EVERYTHING.

Fixed.

- Abyss, wants to do the hood of the car thing...

THE STUPIDEST CAR CHASE EVER IN THE HISTORY OF EVERYTHING.!!!

Fixed.

At what point during that 5-10 minute long chase scene was it not possible for the girls TO JUST BRAKE THE FUCK UP AND LET HER OFF!!!

I didn't like the whole beating to death ending either. I wish he had killed those girls, especially the fat aussie, and the cool chicks had done him in instead.

Your silly logic and reasoning do not pursuade.
And your non-sexual man-love for Kurt Russel and sadness at his on-screen death degrades your argument further.

- Abyss, so there.

The man had a leading role in Big Trouble in Little China. Kurt Russel is a Hero.

Yes, he was also Snake Plissken, Jack ONeill, Elvis Presley and Wyatt Earp.

Which only increases the coolness of DEATHPROOF. Go watch it again and then get back to us with how awesome it is.

- Abyss, didn't actually know Kurt was Elvis in FORREST GUMP til just now...

Like I wrote above, the first part of Deathproof was the awesome tarantino movie I expected, the last part was just bad. It was a poor carboncopy of the first part. I could watch the first part over and over again.

The Russel as Elvis thing is new to me too, new reason to go watch Forest Gump.

Apt, life is like a box of STDs, you never know what you're gonna get.

3000 miles is actually one of the few movies of the past decade starring Kevin Costner I enjoyed.

The only good thing about 3000 MILES was Christian Slater being killed.

Btw, Val Kilmer was ALSO Elvis (Tarantino's TRUE ROMANCE), and he was in TOMBSTONE with Kurt Russel, thus re-affirming that TOMBSTONE was one of the best Elvis movies ever.

- Abyss, beyond logic.

Black Snake Moan is a bloody wicked film. Great soundtrack too. And Christina Ricci is ridonkulously hot.

I concur with the Rodeo on all counts of that statement.

TO ABYSS: Go watch the Blues Brothers for the greatest car chase in history.

Someone's done one of those spoiler pictures for Cloverfield (where you click a picture/link, the .gif shows a moment of the original picture then the spoiler), as there was an advance screening and some people have squealed. Overall response was good, though I have to say the monster does look a bit silly.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Check your CP, some people may not want to know. By that I mean Control Panel, not Captain Planet. Or Captain Picard.

I dunno. The Bourne Supremacy had a great, great car chase.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I'm not sure what to think about this new film advertised lately, 10,000 BC.
Part of me thinks it'll be cool, but the other part thinks it might be lame.

Here's the trailer:http://www.apple.com...00bc/trailer2a/

What's the consensus around here?

The ancient history student in me is outraged.

The fan of independence day and the scorpion king in me is midly enthusiastic.

I don't like the fact that they're showing six different climates (or something). Is it supposed to be taking place around europe/africa? could explain two such drastically different climates in such close vicinity and yet bot at all. It would account for the egyption style architecture though... and again, not at all.

Of course I think I should be putting as much historical logic in this as i did in 300.

I saw Death Sentence with Kevin Bacon today. I liked it. It's an old story, average family man gets in trouble with criminals/gangs and much killing insues, but they put a new spin on a lot of the angles.

Also a movie that has peoples legs being blown off by shotguns have my seal of approvel.

In geeky anticipation of the new Terminator TV show, I've started watching the Terminator films again. Just finished T1 this afternoon. Still a wicked flick. The only part that really dates it is the horrific 80s synthesizer soundtrack. Just painful.

I'll have to snoop around town and buy myself a copy of T2 tomorrow.
