I've decided that ninja stars, pets, and the whip are stupidly rigged for the wielder.

Dunno about the other two, but as a pet user, I disagree

they are compensation for low HP. My brute has about 15 HP less than average of his level. The fact that opponents waste some hits to knock out the pet compensates for it.

Higher-level (or weapon specialist) Brutes take out pets with one hit.
WHILE THEY DEFEND

I find specialties to be pretty cheap.

not always a composition for low HP- they can be added as a speciality when you level up, so you get someone already powerful get a pet to help out.

I haven't come across the ninja star or the whip yet, but while the first time I came up against a pet I got trounced, since I've found that most of the time I can beat pet users easily. So I'm going to have to side with Ment on this one.

Gah you all would- yeah pets aren't that hard to beat until you encounter the BEAR! The little dog/wolf is easy but a bear?? It has like 50hp and hits 20+, absurd.

And wait til you find the ninja stars. Not fun.

Yeah, you only get XP for fights you pick yourself, which is annoying - wish you'd get them when people attack you...

EDIT: They also need to modify the XP system so that you get more or less depending on the difference in level...at the moment seems like you could just beat up on level 1 people and get the same amount of XP as if you'd beaten all level 10s...

EDIT: just checked. I fought another level 3 with a dog... it was a close call, but my brute won.

EDIT again: just checked my next opponent.. oh fuck, he gets to use the bone... I hate that weapon.

I think you get a ranking based on your best performance in a tournament - get to the final 1024 to be on the lowest rung, it looks like.

One of my tournament opponents had a ninja star...I can see why Stalker finds it so annoying .
