You shouldn't rule out the butler, I am confident he is the killer for historical reasons. He's always the killer.

Theres only 6 or 7 characters in the game all based off colours (Miss Scarlet, Mrs White etc) so I imagine Bent had to go with other people who would be at a 1930's mansion. So Cook, Butler, Maid, Policeman etc I guess are to fill the remaining roles..

Well, for instance, Scarlett is the one to trip the policeman, so barring a trap laid (always a possibility, I guess, but seems more out-of-the-way than just stabbing someone or something) it's somewhat vindicating, right?

This is based off of the movie, but not strictly. The characters are from the movie, the roles are based off of the game. If that makes sense.

Oh please, Obdi was asking if he could vote himself and then asked me to do it. So I did. I just presumed there'd be a 12 hour night as I read in the starting thread as I'm sure most other people did as well judging from the comments from Sixty and DKT about the no nights.

I don't like this sort of reasoning. It's always brought up, and more than average by the evil side. We do not want to assume, nor can we ever assume that people we've taken out (at least not this early) are symps. We cannot know and we're better served by the assumption that both killer and symp is out there still.

I'm not quite as sure about this as you seem to be. I'm surprised people didn't pick up PS post about night and day times, but I think I would've assumed that the roled players are smart enough to send in provisionals.

Incidently, your argument JA can be turned to say that ending the day early may mean the killer hasn't had the time to send in his provisional.
