Ok, back from work and caught up.

What I am is REALLY fucking confused. You guys make it sound like everyone's a marine. And I didnt play in the last game, but it's been discussed in a million places, so I kinda know what happened. Same as I have a rough idea what happened in 17, even though I wasnt around for that.

No, I'm a colonist. One of the guys the marines came to rescue. I thought only a couple of people were marines and everyone else was like me. Except obviously the scum. I was told I had to just survive until the shuttle gets here without being eaten, infected or turned into a predator's codpiece.

there is only one colonist i would trust to not be infected and she is short and smells funny while clinging to people. Every other colonist had stuff jumping out their chests pretty much as the core stepped off the shuttle, and from my pm i would assume we have already tussled with the aliens so if your claiming newt do so, but if you are a colonist, i would guess your infected already and spitglued onto a wall.

So like seriously - everyone else here is a marine? Man venge has a fucked up sense of humour. Would I know if I'm infected? Man, I am SO fucking confused right now. There's nothing I can do to prove my innocence to you and a huge misunderstanding of what seems like a basic part of the game has now caused you guys to all jump all over me instead of actually looking for badguys.

And no I'm not newt. Just a regular colonist.

Man I got a shitty role then. I honest to god thought the marines were some sort of separate faction from the innos. Hence my question. And all the questions about what happens on the ship with the alien. Since I thought the 'regular humans' were a large group of people. Was kinda confused that noone seemed to understand what I was talking about.
