we have a failure.
if i remember correctly, transformers 1 starts with a load of robots arriving from space (granted some are already there) regardless of that, i witnessed enough emo robot in I Am Robot, enough that I did not need to see bumblebee cry and the twins racial stereotype it up.
I repeat, robots do not fart, if I wanted primary school pull my finger humour I'd take up babysitting
I'll have my robots of the monotone original human slaughtering terminator if you don't mind.
Iritating kiddy sound effect robots reserve for the new star wars trilogy if you don't mind.

Macros - notes that given the evidence, Apt likely loved Jar Jar Binks

If it wasn't for Jar Jar Binks, Episode One might possibly have been my favorite Star Wars film. Jar Jar Binks was an awfull choice, and clearly just put in there to sell merchandice for the kids.

As for your picture of the transformers. They were never inhuman, killing machines. Even the evil ones were funny, akward and had silly catchphrases and crappy design and weapons. Why would you expect the transformers in the film to be any different? In my opinion they wastly improved the transformers and made them work in the 21st century.

The only thing I don't like about the movie transformers is that they are constantly jumping around, doing acrobatics and pulling crazy martialarts moves. It doesn't really fit well together with my mental image of the old, clunky robots. They should be heavier and more durable. Every punch should be loud and heavy, they should hardly be able to jump at all.

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Of course I don't agree (except on the Jar Jar bit, whoever does like that thing needs to die horribly). I was just quoting one of the many many things Jake Lloyd said during the movie that aggravated and irritated me, to the point where I was hoping they'd stuck the bit where he gets thrown into a volcano in the first movie.

If for just one of the fight scenes it had been possible to tell what was going on then it might have been alright. I don't know why they had to make the transformers such a mess, if they had done something as simple as making them a little more similar in colour to the original vehicles and a little less, well, messy it would have been fine.

Apart from the fact that the story was nonsensical shit.

I went to to see this last night, then I watched The Spirit on DVD, there's 4 hours of my life lost for no discernible reward.

I have to say I liked this movie in one sense, and hated it in a few others. There was a lot of cool fighting, especially on the part of Optimus Prime (what a god :D), if a little hard to make sense of, the CGI was fairly decent and there were some redeeming moments comedically. Rainn Wilson's character was pretty funny. A lot of the humour was a little sub-par, though.

That said, the plot was ridiculous, some of the concepts like that guy from Washington, while intriguing, went absolutely nowhere, the Twins were quite simply gratuitous off-colour "humour", it was too long and there were a few continuity errors and things of that ilk. I would go into further detail, but it's most likely been brought up before and I can't be bothered.

I don't think those bits ruined the film though. My inner critic was fuming at the finer aspects of this film, but really, like TT said, if you go into a Bay film expecting the storytelling to be top-notch then you might as well ask for your money back, because you obviously were misinformed as to what this movie actually contained, which is lots of 'splosions, hot chicks and robots kicking the crap out of each other. That's all I really expected, and I wasn't disappointed. I probably won't watch it again, as it's not great by action movie standards or comic book movies like Batman or Iron Man, but not a waste I don't think. 5-6/10.

I liked it, since I knew what to expect--explosions, lots of transforming robots and Megan Fox.

once again, i stress that the criticism from people arises from actually EXPECTING greatness from a movie. Befor they watch it.

Stop doing that, and you'll appreciate things a lot more.

Actually no. We were merely expecting competence, but the movie failed to deliver even that.
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. In general I thought the movie ok. Not as good as the first and even Optimus's generalised morale boost tirades got a bit tiresome after a while.

I thought the Deceptacons went down way to easy and the two Hispanic transformers needed castrating in a mechanical way. However that’s done.

but the worst thing was that old " transformer " who had the single worst casting of a voice on a part within a movie ever recorded.

Please someone tell me that it was Poxy Lennie Fudging Henry!!??

other then my generalised rantings above there were some rather amusing bits that had everyone laughing and its been a while since ive been to a movie where the whole cinema is roaring away.

All a bit mixed really.

Handsomeness level. 5/10

"I think i was a bad person before. Before this time. I do not try to be good now but i am not bad. Perhaps if i try harder i may get a better hand dealt next time? But surely that makes it pointless? Perhaps i am good. Just good at being pointless. But that would make me bad. Bad at having a point. Ah…. I see now. I was nothing before, I am nothing now. I am bad purely because im pointless. "

There were Hispanic autobots? Am I the only one who thinks it touchingly amazing that Flawed doesnt even recognise racism when he sees it? That's the sign of a civilised man, all races unite as one to suffer equally from any form of abuse.

Pretty sure they were Wigger autobots.

At least that is my guess.

Movie was a fine popcorn flick. Anyone expecting anything more is stupid.

I was just thinking about the third transformers film they are supposedly going to make.

Is anyone else disappointed that the ending of Revenge of the Fallen didn't show Megatron and Starscream floating through space when they suddenly get eaten by A HUGE MECHANICAL PLANETOID. It would have been a classical introduction of Unicron.

Michael Bay confirms Transformers 3 to feature record-breaking two-hour explosion

http://bbspot.com/News/2009/07/transformer...explosions.html

Quote

Hollywood, CA – The third installment in the highly-successful Transformer movie franchise will feature a world record breaking two-hour explosion. The movie is tentatively titled Transformers Go Boom.

"It would be easy with today's technology to just create an endless loop of explosion that lasts two hours, but audiences can get that from an animated GIF file," said director Michael Bay. "Instead we're working with top pyrotechnic and computer graphic artists to create a unique two-hour explosion. I've got a budget of over a hundred million dollars, so you can bet it's going to be awesome."

Bay didn't want to reveal other details of the plot, but sources at the studio expects the final cut to run for less than two hours and five minutes.

Moviegoers can also expect the loudest explosion they've ever heard. Theaters will have to upgrade their sound systems to the newly designed Bay Bone Breaker Sound System, which will envelop viewers with over 250 decibels of explosive sound.

"We fully expect some fatalities," said Bay. "It'll truly blow their minds."

Critics who savaged Bay's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen say it's "more of the same" from Bay. Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times said, "It doesn't sound much different than every other movie he's directed. At least he's taken the pretense of a plot out of the movie and just giving people what they want."
One fan, Derek Lucas, 16, of Dallas, Texas said, "As long as Megan Fox is in it, I don't care what else is on the screen."

It was an ok movie. I agree with Mentalist in that you go and watch this particular movie in order to see exlposions, transforming robots and the lovely Miss ...ehrm...Fox... And damn Optimus is badass!

Decepticons are Volvos? Damn swedes and their fake 'neutrality'. They are obviously in cahoots with the evil bots!
