You, sir, are a pompous wit.

Why, thank you. I believe that may be the nicest thing anyone's said to me ever.

If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Pffft...these Canadians are such amateurs.

But let's all become inundated in Canadianess.

Baseball and (a word is missing here) syrup!

You can't seem to get your stereotypes right.

The correct response would have been:

"Hockey and Maple syrup"

Must be going on my Canadian grandpa's own affectations...

Stone monkey, start acting like an uppish English lord of the manor. It's about time someone took it... :(

I don't know what jackass started this stereotype, but at least on the east coast I've yet to hear any local pronounce it "aboot". We do use "eh" a lot. :p

Oh, and because someone has to, go Leafs go! :p

This sentiment is rather odd coming from you.

Toronto is a pit of obscenities and you know it.

Well, I'm too far East to go with a team like the Canucks or Oilers. Ottawa... well, there are no good things to be said here. I was destined to be either a Leafs or Habs fan, and as my dad watches Toronto I invariably picked them because of ease. Our day will come!

You should visit Newfoundland or Cape Breton, they've made swearing into an art form of sorts. :p

I've never heard either.

I am totally guilty of over-using "eh." Fucker slips out onto the end of sentences without me even noticing it. Drove one girl I dated absolutely insane. Well, insaner.

I know eh?

I use that slut all the time too. The eh? is a way of life in the maritimes. It gets said a lot.

And at this end of canada I do actually hear aboot on occasion. Never anyplace else than in the maritimes (unless it was said in jest).

The very fact that it's from Toronto, means it must be ridiculed until it dies of shame.

Sadly, in spite of the rest of Canada's best efforts, the Leafs and Jays survive. Dammit.

Quebecois don't use 'eh'. We use 'maudite'.

And the Leafs suck. Accept it.

Ohhhh...Anomander, you didn't just say go Leafs go? I think you've earned a spot in the 9th circle of hell for that (says the lifetime Habs fan, despite their present crapitude). Anyway, how can anyone cheer for a team that's grammatically incorrect? Leaves dammit, not Leafs. Only Torontonians could screw up the plural of leaf. :p

Buffy was awesome up untill around season five. Season six, besides some cool episodes and certain events, was bullshit. Season seven made up for a lot of it though.

Angel could easily have run for a few seasons more. The ending was really cool though.

I wish the Spike or Giles spin-offs had gotten a chance.

Generally these series were good because they had some very awesome ideas that they somehow managed to not fuck up. I mean think of the bad guys they put them up against. Vampire king? check. Immortal Godling? check. Zombie demon cyborg? Check. Demon mayor monster snake? Check. Evil Priest Super henchman? Check. Goddess of love and beauty that eats people? Check. etc.

Isn't that Mac question from the Pub?
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....
