Does anyone have an off-screen battle/clash that they wished had been in one of the books?

For me it's Kellanved and Dancer vs Topper, Surly, Possum and the twelve or so other claws in Mocks hold (NOK).

I've put this here so that all the books can be discussed!

Blow by blow, the clash wasn't narrated, just the aftermath. 12 dead claws, Topper, Surly and Possum are carrying injuries and Dancer appears later at the deadhouse covered in blood. The fight is alluded to but not described.

I preferred that way of relating the fight. None of the POV characters were in that room, so why should we see it?
I loved the image of Kellevand's tapping his cane as he paced back and forth in the room above Tay/Kiska's heads.

So I can't agree with you there I'm afraid. That scene was handled superbly in my opinion.

And wasn't that pretty much the only clash we didn't see?

Silchas Ruin taking apart the TTT Gods wasn't given a blow by blow account either, but that one wasn't as important really.

What was there to see? Probably Mael simply beated them up with none of them putting up any resistance

There are dozens of off-screen scenes across the books

The chainings
The battles between rake and osserc
Rake, Killmandaros and the dragons
T'lan Imass taking various cities
Rake vs segula
Rake vs draconus

to name a few off the top of my head

I was mostly talking about the ones that happen in 'present' time and not in prologues and stuff.

well i think he's asking about all the terrible battles that we've heard about, throughout the history of malaz, such as the ones he listed.

personally i wanna know how the hell rake shanghai'd killy into an underwater azath from KE

also it would be cool to know what kind of power the errant used to kill all those FA

also also, the campaign of the bridgeburners against the mott irregulars in mott wood

Bridgeburners/Moranth vs Mott Irregulars/Tiste Andii/Brood in Mott Wood. Figure out how QB saved Tayshcrenn. How he faked his death and which High Mage he was. Antsy and the rest before they all up and died...well at least he is still alive with Blend and Picker. The BB's getting rid of captains they don't like. Some BB not being so nice. Why Whiskeyjack is so admired by the Moranth....and on and on and on.

Sincerely,
L'oric

Dragon vs Tayschreen or mage cadre or whatever...and and and
What I do not know fills many more volumes than what I do know.

Not technically a clash but i'd like to read about the forming of the SWORD, how Daseem rose to first sword of the empire and how Temper etc became part of the sword. The battles they fought etc.

Would love to know the incident that made Seguleh 2nd so pissed at Skinner.

Icarium in one of his rages destroying a civilization.

Invasion by an army of TTT. I am sure they invaded something in the heyday of their existance.

The taking of Malyntaeas by the Malazans, or engagements in Blackdog or Mott Wood. Awesome fighting, I'll bet.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Topper vs. Cowl
Starting where Laseen was slain, and ending in Malaz. Big chance it was a true epic.

Whiskeyjack vs. Dassem
Would be fun to read about their training.

Dassem vs. Skinner
See what actually happened between them. Did they cross blades to a standstill or not?

Dancer vs. anything and anyone
Who wouldn't like to read about the best assassin out there?

Skinner vs. Seguleh 2nd
Well, they must've met in some way.

Pust's mule vs. Kruppe's mule
Yep.

Odds are you will see one of those in the Kharkanas trilogy.
Or Draconus versus Osric.

I'd love to see some (but necessarily the whole thing) of the Jaghut war against death.
Also a flashback battle of the KCCM civil war, Short-tails versus Longtails.
