The shield is great!
Shane and Vic are two of my favorite characters. Good dynamic.
Shane's original role was on the shield now he is on justified and was Venus on Son's.
You will see these characters in a whole new light.

Outside the court house when Jax came upon the homeless woman, she said "it's time" (or something along those lines) and then handed him her blanket. Next scene is Jax looking like the reaper (with the blanket) as he waits on the steps for Marx and his retinue.
Did anyone else think when Jax told the DA the "bad guys lose", that it meant all the loose ends were going to be taken care of (i.e. The Irish, Barosky, Marx et. al)? But that it was also suggesting that Jax was one of those "bad guys"?
How the Irish aspect played out was unexpected, which made it one of my favorite parts of the final episode.
On a separate note, I'm glad Chibs put the sheriff in her place. That was one of the weak story arcs on an otherwise stellar final season.

He was also the guy who gave Gemma a lift to her father's place, which is all kinds of poetic.
Just finished watching... Need to process a bit, but damn that was good. Far more honourable, far lower body count than I was expecting, but a totally satisfying end run for the Sons.

I never watched that.
Now after the Afterword I want to see all the clips of the homeless woman. That Sutter was actually trying to put a magical element in this show blew my mind and every bit of it went right the fuck over my head.

She was an angel of sorts. She always showed up when Jax was trying to do the right thing. She also walked by Gemma and Tara at some key moments.

Did Jax's son (Abel) having the "SONS" ring suggest that this madness will continue!? Damn, soooo many nuances, MY BRAIN HURTS!
Also, some needed comedy relief via humiliation porn - "Fat Ass In My Face"

Yes. I just didn't anticipate Jax going all Last Day on Earth and taking care of everything by himself.

I took it as deliberately ambiguous.
We never knew what Nero was getting from the garage, so if a few of Jax's journals or the JT manuscript found their way to Abel in a decade or so...
...well, the MC didn't end, so a sequel where one or both brothers is drawn into the SAMCRO world is wholly possible.

Those porn tapings were high comedy. Funniest thing they've ever done in the show, and that's saying a lot.

Funny, that's exactly what i expected him to do.
I wasn't sure whether he'd go the martyr route, or fake his death somehow, but i was certain he was going to make some major scarifice for the MC whatever happened.

One thing I think didn't get answered. Exactly WHY did Jax have to meet Mayham? What was Jaxs request to Pres. and Chibs. Unless I missed something that entire issue glossed over.
He executed the President of the other chapter.
The request was to repeal the no Blacks in the club, so they could patch over T.O and I'm betting the rest of the Grim Bastards. That clause was the begining of Juice's down fall so many seasons ago.

A bit more severe, he killed another Pres and admitted it was based on bad info and Jury wasn't the rat. He dropped the self defence lie too.Otherwise agreed exactly.

Re T.O., i took it that they would patch in the rest of the Bastards eventually, but it wasn't stated. When this was discussed a few eps ago it seemed like they were talking about patching over the whole Grim MC, then suddenly it's just TO standing for the vest.
Odd, but like Jax's leg, i guess it's just something that was written out on the fly.
Overall, i'm pretty happy with the finale. I liked that...
... Chibs, for all that he was Jax's mentor and a sort of father figure, turned out to be his student in the way of being a leader.
... Sutter defied convention and let Tig live despite everything horrible he's done, made him, VP... AND give him a sort of happily-ever-after with Venus.
... Jax acknowledged where he came from and how he failed and that part of it was Gemma's fault.
... we didn't get a cheesy dedication to all who have gone before but the Opie acknowledgement was a nice touch.
... Borovsky and Marks got what they had coming to them.
... Marilyn Manson didn't... again, defying expectation and the show's history of wiping out Aryan supremacists whenever possible. Some badguys don't pay.
... Jarry and Chibs' relationship was left so interesting.
... Nero, Wendy and the boys got a sort of happy ending.
... Layla didn't die. ...because fuck, she was abused enough.
... the DA appeared, because she was a great opponent and the way that storyline was derailed when Donal Logue left was just wrong.
...the homeless woman/angel closed things out.
... SAMCRO wasn't wiped out, because that would have removed a bit of magic from the world. I like the notion that the MC and some vestige of what it was supposed to represent back when JT first created it, will carry on.
All in all, i'm happy with how the series went out and the time spent watching it was time well spent.
I'm curious to see what Sutter does next.

Did anyone else think that Jax's leg was going to have a role in his ending à la Whiskeyjack? That's the first thing I thought of.
But I guess it miraculously cured?

I thought they were going to hit him with some sort of medical condition that meant he would have to stop riding.
In the end it came to nothing.

Awww man. Anyone else super bummed there will be no episode tonight? Man, I'm soooo sad this series has ended. The last season was soooo f'ing epic. I'm going to get the full series on blu-ray when they include the last season and watch it all because I only picked up watching the show at season 5. Man, all the stuff Jax did in remembrance of his dad would have been a lot more poignant for me if I had watched from the beginning.

My God that was an insanely fucking intense ep tonight...wow.
This ep seemed like it would be a season finale there was so much shit that went down not an early ep like it was. Just shows how awesome this show truly is IMO.

Yep this looks like a thread necro, but I'm just getting through season 6 after a looong wait.
And it is just awesome, no other word for it. It's the sort of show that demonstrates just how great tv can be, and makes other series pale in comparison.
I've just watched S6 ep 7 - the one with the return of Venus. And Tara vs Gemma.. the beginning anyway. That's not going to end well.
I haven't looked at the rest of the thread as I don't want spoilers at this stage, but really if you haven't seen this, you really, really should.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I'm actually still quite.. disturbed by that episode. I kind of knew it was coming, as the first line on the amazon episode guide had it right... there.. but that was just brutal.
Having kids has made me a total wuss when it comes to kids on tv/film; from their point of view, as well as Taras, that was just shit, and it could have all been avoided.
I don't think I've spent a night with a tv 'moment' on my mind so much since Opie.
That said, I loved way the guns/irish deal went down. Sutter is a genius at this, he's like the convergence King of tv.

Finally reaching the end of season 7, after it recently appeared as a box set on sky.
This season has just been a giant body count - all of which can be laid at Gemma's feet. Awesome, but brutal as usual.
Just watched ep 11, only two to go now.. and hell, the acting in that episode was just first class.
I just hope it's not a total bloodbath finale, there are still some characters left alive that I would like to see live past the closing titles..
