This one isn't airing at the same time either?

No it's airing here but between DEXTER and BREAKING BAD ending plus STRIKEBACK and being away the entire month of Oct i just won't have time until then and SONS is a fun show to marathon.

Got caught up with this season. Man, this season is firing on all cylinders! No matter which way the MC turns there seems to be a shit storm brewing. Donal Logue's character reminds me of Det. Jack Scagnetti from Natural Born Killers.

Fifty shades of may(hem) indeed! . . . .see what I did there? Posted Image

Hmmm...another season of "oh shit" and then the boys pull it off at the last second....sounds like classic sons

Really good show..been watching it since the first episode came on...should be a lot of tension this season...

I'd like to get into some details but not sure about spoiler alert in this thread?

Oooohhhh noooooo! The return of Venus Van Damme! Tig is going to be distracted. The MC can't afford any distractions at the moment!

Ahhhh . . . . The Tara vs. Gemma narrative has reached critical mass!

And I totally called the Venus Van Damme distraction. SAMCRO should not get involved! They've too much shit to deal with. Tig will make his case to keep Venus in the mix. That sick mother fucker.

Latest episode was kind of meh. It was mainly a bridge, setup to what is coming down on Jax and the MC. Even so there were still some "holy fuck" moments (i.e. John Q. Stabby Neck).

Holy internal strife batman! Jax's got 99 problems and a bitch IS one.

And the prison bible study / nose biting! There was so much more too. Man, if you guys aren't watching SOA you are doing yourself a disservice.

Holy sphincter pucker! The machinations of Tara have toppled like a deck of cards! Now methinks one last desperate action is forthcoming.

And double taint shiver! This last job the MC has in progress with the Irish is a mission right out of GTA V! The Butcher of Belfast is one ruthless mofo!

Finally, we got a taste of what Fifty Shades of Grey could have been with Charlie Hunnam in the lead role..... *sigh.... be still by beating heart *teehee.

If I marathoned watched s6 it would take some time for me to decompress. So, take some time, think of rainbows, cupcakes and unicorns and then come back and leave your thoughts.

One low light I have for s6 is the story arc for Donal Logue's character (former US Marshal Lee Toric). It just seemed to end abruptly (albeit violently). I thought I read somewhere there was a conflict with production of Vikings so his stint on SOA was cut short. I wasn't totally disappointed with how his story ended, I just would have liked there to be more to it.

Overall, s6 was excellent.

I agree that when his storyline ended I was like WTF?!!? I was surprised as I expected them to do more with him, like have someone important find out that he was a crazy drug addict before he was offed - though if he had stuck around for too much longer, I'm sure I would have gotten sick of him, cause he was already starting to get on my nerves. He was just a weird kind of crazy.

The entire plotline related to getting out of guns was seriously great, including Clay's part and how the Sons dealt with all the different factions who were affected by it. The resolution of the IRA plotline was fucked and fucking glorious. Jax made this work so well. Great work from Hunnam this season.

Clay... fuck me but that storyline was nicely handled right to the savage end.

I actually found Tara's plotline at times compelling and at times silly, but her desperation justified it and when things started to fall apart it happened in a faily logical way. She had to be pretty damn desperate to rely on Wendy of all people and wow that went wrong.

Loved Bobby's plotline this season. The recruiting was awesome.

Juice... they did some crazy shit to Juice last season and took it to an interesting place this season. He's at this weird space between badass and vulnerable.

Glad to see Tig downplayed this season. His plotline in S5 became annoying. His face when the She-male showed up was priceless.

Loved everything Chibs did. Flanagan is a brilliant actor.

Happy stole virtually every scene he was in.

Nero... i may not have loved Nero's plotline except that Jimmy Smits is such a damn fine actor that he just sellls it hard and i buy it every time he's on screen. His chemistry with Gemma was consistently believable.

Gemma was Gemma. I didn't quite buy her ultimate meltdown, but it wasn't ridiculous given what else she had just been thru with Clay and Nero.

Bummer about Phil.

Otto went out the only way he could.
Toric was probably the weakest element of S6, but the show has a history of 'Big Bads' not turning out to be the actual big bad, so the shift to the DA was logical even if it amounted to yet another state official trying to find a way to RICO the MC.

If i had one major nit to pick it would be that a lot of the truly fucked up things that happened in S6 were the result of someone not having just one little piece of information, ie Jax going off on Juice not knowing why Juice told Nero, Gemma's finale happened because Jax didn't warn her or Wayne or Tara about something the entire MC knew about by then...

Overall immensely strong season. Looking fwd to how S7 plays out as their last one.

Sutter has stated in a few interviews now that his intention is to end with 7 but he's not swearing he won't change his mind 'if the story calls for it'.
Which translates in industry speak to 'FX give me more money'.

Generally the tv economics of more eps past S7 argue against continuing. In network once a show hits 4-5 seasons it can make more money in syndication and DVD sales once the actual cost of producing more eps is removed from the equation. In cable tv the magic number is around 7 seasons. There's some variance, but it amounts to network and showrunners thinking, more or less, 'people love what we've done, we've made big money, we'll keep making money, let's quit while we're ahead'. Actors and crew don't really get a say.

I read somewhere (forget the source) that Sutter is tossing around the idea of another series based on the the very beginning of the Sons of Anarchy mc. I believe the timeline for this new series (iirc) would begin right around the end of the Vietnam war.
