Well fuck him, I want to know what's what! Although... some of the alternatives here are way better than anything he's going to say.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Sprinkle in words and phrases in the next communication that are certain to catch the attention of the NSA. If done right, your 'friend' can end up in Gitmo just in time for it to close!

I have the necessary equipment for this.

Do it; it'll be like the end of Mrs Robinson, we can run away together, with your knowledge of micro-biology and my background in European history we could start a new life as academics somewhere glam like De Montford or Keele and live like kings (kings with an enourmous combined income of £40k at any rate).

Yeah, I usually do a lot of individual adblocking. I have a few people's avatars blocked right now...the ones I can think of right now are Gothos (his is just ugly), Baudin's (same), Sparkimus's (not only is it gross, gifs are annoying)...I think I have a few other gifs blocked because I don't like them in general. I used to have CI's blocked until he changed it from that scary Agent Smith pic.

Blocking avatars? That's no fun!

Surely you jest.

There is no excuse for not knowing who Christopher Walken is. Here's a nice SNL montage.

I know who Christopher Walken is. I just don't know who blocked him. I'm guessing no one.

Ah, I see. I thought you were asking who Walken was.

I don't know that anyone is blocking my avatar. I just wanted to write 'crotch thrust'.

OOC, Terez, are you in grad school? If not, have you interviewed at many prospective schools? What are they?

I'm just curious about what schools are considered good for music majors.

I have one year of undergrad left (in case that doesn't make sense because you know how old I am, I dropped out of school for 9 years and just came back last year).

My top pick for grad school is Indiana University, which is in the top tier, the elite. Also in that tier are Eastman, Yale, Manhattan, Oberlin, Peabody, Rice, USC, Michigan, Cincinnati Conservatory, New England Conservatory, and the Cleveland Institute. Oh, and Juilliard. :p

Anyway, if you're shooting for the tier below that one, there are quite a few good schools out there, and mine (University of Southern Mississippi) is one of them. Our facilities are outdated, but our ensembles are internationally recognized, our faculty are top-notch, and our master's students move on to the top tier for their PhDs almost without fail. Another example of that second tier is FSU; I think UW-Madison, despite being a good music school and elite for certain other fields, actually falls in the next-lower tier for music.

Indiana's that highly ranked? I wouldn't have guessed.

I was gonna recommend my hometown school Ithaca College, but it seems you have your sights set a bit higher.

I actually know a guitar player that got accepted to Julliard out of high school. Admission was based solely on his audition tape and interview (live audition?) - his grades weren't so hot, but he came from a long line of renowned musicians. The Acetos. He dropped out after his first semester because it was a TON of work and everyone was so competitive.

He plays in The Sim Redmond band now. Ever heard of 'em? I guess they're big in Japan.

EDIT: It may have been Berkelee he was went to, not Julliard. My memory's not so hot.
