The New York Post's Page Six reports that NBC has rejected a Super Bowl ad from animal rights organization PETA due to its hypersexualized nature:

NBC pulled the plug on a PETA pro-veggie commercial planned for the Super Bowl because it "depicts a level of sexuality exceeding our standards," according to NBC Universal's advertising standards executive, Victoria Morgan. The ad, which carries the tagline, "Studies Show Vegetarians Have Bet ter Sex," shows lingerie-clad stunners getting "intimate" with vegetables.

While I'm sure this would get the attention of many a man watching the Super Bowl. At the same time I'm also sure it wouldn't be of any help as far as furthering their message is concerned. It's think like this that just make me dismiss PETA out of hand. I think it's why most people refuse to take them seriously, even if they agree with the issues they're supposed to represent.

jeez... The PETA are idiots. Vegetables have feelings, you can't name cars after animals (so long Viper, Cobra, Ram and all Lamborghinis named after famous bulls), eating meat is unatural, wearing fur is a crime....what will be next?
