I liked everything about Wings of Liberty (including the SHMUP arcade game) except Kerrigan. They took the self-styled queen bitch of the Universe and turned her into a damsel in distress. And on top of that, they made a McGuffin in a Protons prophecy.

Everything else was pretty great- the choices, the varied gameplay, the meta-upgrades/unlocks. but the overall arc sucked.

Well, she's not a damsel in distress in Le Swarm. Like, I think she cries sometimes and you will probably still hate her personality but also commits multiple angry genocides. Artanis best girl.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Wait I remembered a thing and I take it back she is totally a damsel in distress. Like, she is literally in a tall tower in trouble being rescued by a dude in (power) armour. Mrrrrgh

To be fair, Rapunzel didn't slaughter thousands of people with psychic voodoo lightning on her way up the tower, so that was different at least.

(I would totally watch that version of Tangled...)

Artanis was always trying to live up to the reputation of much better heroes. Tassadar, Fenix... Artanis was always a tryhard who accomplished next to nothing. I'm not surprised he continued on same trajectory. He got handed all the responsibily when by the end of BroodWar he's the only named hero still around (after Zeratul leaves off to... Brood), and he screwed up epically in the last Zerg mission. Again.

I wasn't even aware there was a new Total war out.
Total war saga- Britannia

Reviews seem solid enough. I didn't bother with Attila because Rome 2 was such a let down for me

It is a bit more of a throwback to earlier games, from my early experiences. No agents, smaller unit selections and more of a focus on battle than tacked on mechanics like Rome II's senate stuff.
That being said, it sort of uses the Rome II Province system, with limited building slots per settlement.

installing StarCraft 2. Box sez 30 GB. Install directory is 500 MB; downloading 8 GB update, no clue where it's going, but I think it's my SSD with tiny memory capacity (I made the mistake of listing the SSD for the Battle.net install directory). sigh.

Rome AND Diablo 2 remake in the same year! Quickly throwing warhammer 3 in here too so as to avoid addressing the irony of turning 30 and mostly looking forward to remakes of the games I played as a kid.

I've explained the maths to the wife. It would be criminal negligence not to take advantage of such a deal

You can tell her, that I, in my role as a police officer, have to study criminal law, can confirm this is 100% true.
